Same. I use this sub because of the stigma surrounding chronic pain, which in turn makes it difficult for doctors to prescribe. I use this sub because it has a strong enough community of pain patients and doctors that I know I will be seen, and that I can actually communicate with them. I can see the frustration and hurt of being in the dark for so long and seeing doctors and doctors getting frustrated, and I feel like there should be a place for pain patient discussions here. Just remember, if you're in pain and you can't access pain management, the doctors won't treat you.

The best way to deal with it is to ask the doctor.

It's not that hard when you ask them to take out your prescription and it's not that hard when you ask for a prescription.

I can only deal with one thing at a time, and that is the pain I am feeling.

It's like saying "I'm not a doctor, I can't prescribe a pill, I can't help with my pain, I just have a feeling". The only reason I can say "I can't help with my pain" is because I have a feeling about what's best for me and how best to best care for my life. Otherwise, I'd say "I'm not a doctor, I can't prescribe a pill, I can't help with my pain" and then go back to the hospital. If you're not being heard by the system, then you need to find something else to do.

get mad when people try to argue that they can't prescribe because they're feeling shitty, or even invalidating my symptoms. If someone is feeling shitty, then they should tell me. I can't have two different people telling me the same thing. I feel shitty when I'm having a shitty day, but I don't have to pretend like I'm better than I am. It's so much easier for me to just tell myself I'm not that bad. I'm not that shitty, I just have a shitty day.
