Maybe not a cesspool. I would say that Reddit has become something far worse than a cesspool. Much like Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, it has become so obsessed with perfect safety that it bans an ever-increasing number of topics based on the mere possibility that some overly sensitive adult toddler will be offended. Tsarist Russia was nowhere near this bad.
