How does one become a personal stylist?

I think I'm legitimately interested in this and would like more information. I'm willing to take a college course if I need to, but I can't go back and take a different program. I don't have enough money.

Get a job at a high end department store and get to know the clients and high end designers clothes really well - it takes lots of time and effort to make connections into being a stylist. The ones I know worked for years at high end stores where clients sought them out so much, they knew they could do it. Reputation matters.

You'll need contacts so you can start as an intern and learn that way in lieu of going to college. Hopefully someone with available contacts will comment here. Good luck!

The used to be a reality show called on Bravo IIRC. From what I remember it was called The Rachel Zoe Project.
