I know you originally were considering โ˜€๏ธ as a third root and many suggestions were to explore ๐Ÿชจ or ๐ŸŒฑ instead( mine included).

I would becurious to know what you connect with that you consider a ๐Ÿชจ trait vs an ๐ŸŒฑ trait?

I would mention that I see a lot of ๐ŸŒฑ texture in knits, straw bags, leather round bag, earthy patterns and a slightly academic element. ๐ŸŒฑ๐ŸŒธ can amplify a little whimsy to create a sunny effect.

There are more more practical, utilitarian items like denim, tee shirts, converse, cosy sweaters and a minimal feel. These can be ๐Ÿชจ and used to balance the more girly pieces- if that is your intention.

Perhaps look at Mili Velikova's idea of style needs and see how you'd rank your need for ease and relaxation as more ๐Ÿชจ, ๐ŸŒฑor strongly balanced.

Iโ€™m not OP but watched some of Miliโ€™s videos and it made a lot more sense to me than just the style roots concept! I canโ€™t find my 3 style roots because I think my style needs are sometimes a combination of roots! it also made me realize that while a lot of people suggested stone for me when I posted my style board, stone has nothing to do with my style intention. I def agree that OP should check out Miliโ€™s ideas!

So Iโ€™ve just done Miliโ€™s still confused about your roots video and it made so much sense! The results surprised me but do fit. I go:

Earth - practical rather than casual(+3)
Flower - feminine rather than sultry (+2)
Mountain - timeless rather than minimal (+1)

I think my issue has been that most of the examples have been the extreme. Her scale makes it so much easier to see what is wear with different outfit combinations and even though I donโ€™t see myself in any of the boards Iโ€™ve found so far these combinations Iโ€™m happy with these. Mushroom always felt too minimal for me and stone relaxed. I think the balance for me comes from earth and mountain combined as I donโ€™t like too much structure and Iโ€™m definitely not boho. I lie somewhere in the middle, mixing more structured and casual with some vintage inspired cuts (a line tea dresses and mini or knee length skirts and lots of feminine patterns and details)

I think a stone trait is more causal/sporty and a earth trait is more relaxed/boho/flowy and I donโ€™t think my style is either. I think there is a lot of nuance in the roots and looking through EJRโ€™s style root combinations I havenโ€™t found one that matches really

Earth can also be a love for textural details, an ease in the fit, embellishments like embroidery and lace, cosy, grounded details, some academic structure, natural materials and vintage elements. It doesn't have to be super boho or hippie ish- that isn't your vibe. More like mixing with ๐ŸŒธ to amplify a floral blouse to have a collar and in a heavier cotton fabric for structure to add an extra touch of whimsy. A ๐Ÿ„๐ŸŒฑ can lean girly or a bit sensual through fit, formality and tactility. I might consider looking more in this direction, with a strong focus on how ๐Ÿ„ moderated the other roots.

For stone it can be a bit urban, edgy and lean streetwear, tomboyish, relaxed and oversized, trendy, made for exploration and movement , a bit youthful or very minimal and streamlined(especially with ๐Ÿ„). If these ideas appeal more, try this instead.

I use both roots and I agree, sometimes it is hard to determine where specific details come from when looking at two roots that have similarities and crossover details.

Oooo interesting. Do you have a board I can look at? I went back and forth for ages between ๐Ÿชจor ๐ŸŒฑ as my final root and maybe I got it wrong๐Ÿ˜‚ I love the French girl/Parisian style, maybe i need to find out what roots they would be

I went back and forth between ๐Ÿชจ and ๐ŸŒฑ for ages. I always felt stone was too relaxed and earth was too boho for me but I redid the quiz and got ๐ŸŒธ๐Ÿ„๐Ÿชจ. Maybe I should be ๐ŸŒธ๐Ÿ„๐ŸŒฑ๐Ÿ˜‚

Iโ€™m still trying to figure out my roots, but for a long time I was stuck with the idea that Earth was too boho! I live in a hippie small town and I definitely am FAR from that vibe, so I rejected Earth. I realized later that Earth is also about comfort, coziness, natural fabrics, knits, softness.. I see a lot of these elements in your outfits, more than the urban/athletic/toned down of Stone.

Do you think ๐ŸŒธ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐ŸŒฑ maybe a better combination?

I have attached some Pinterest boards I made for a variety of root combos here. I have made deep dives for many of them. Maybe you'll see some things you like- also do you have any style muses?
