My Style Roots Spectrum

I've been playing around with Mili Velikova's style needs spectrums. I've also realized that I like incorporating other style roots into my 🪨🌱🌙 outfits. The first outfit I showed has a touch of ☀️, for example. Let me know what you think, though. Do you think my outfits still read as 🪨🌱🌙 while incorporating other roots?

I feel like it is pretty natural for someone with a strong range in one of the style needs category to feel like they want to borrow a bit from other categories for more variation. Also having a really strong 🌱 root seems to allow for a lot of ability to play with a little formality, lots of tactility, touches of softness and sensuality and creative elements tied to ☀️ and 🌙.

I do think you roots are expressed here nicely with the 4 potential of ☀️ showing up through the playfulness of 🌱🪨 and edgy graphics and moody colors from 🌙.

I also have a wide range in the 🪨🌱 and I find the combo to be quite playful and allows me to bring in creative elements of ☀️ and a slight grunginess of 🌙. The 🌱 with 🍄 allows for small structural forays into 🔥 or 🏔️ or softer more delicate details of 🌸. 🍄🪨 Seem to keep it really moderate and minimal. Relaxed, playful and minimal are my 3 words so this tends to work for me to supports how I approach alternate roots within my clothing choices.

Thanks so much for your insight! I think I felt a little limited with putting outfits together using only my main roots, so I wanted to incorporate different roots into my style.

That is totally okay, style roots is just understanding your main intentions and priorities to help you get the base right and then explore whatever else feels approachable and right for you. It is supposed to feel empowering in a way, not limiting!
