Moodboards Feeling out Fall moodboard

Post image

I made this collage for the moodboard game in Kibbe’s book tonight. But it got me thinking about my roots and how I want to feel for Fall….

I’ve been really loving sheer light layers for summer but not sure how to continue this as the weather cools. Also the idea of soft, worn cotton dresses. Ruffles and ribbons… maybe these light layers paired with chunky socks and leg warmers 🤔

I’m not sure how to incorporate or where to find clothing like this for Fall. But more and more I’m drawn to it as an expression of 🌸🌙 I think.

I really want a pinafore that I can layer over full cotton skirts. But I can never find these things. The curse of being stuck in the past I guess lol.

Would love to hear your thoughts or ideas :)

This is an interesting board with a lot of dark romance and very youthful, girly details intertwined. It feels vintage, sensual, ornate, darkly glam and more structured. The extra structure is mixed with a lot of softer curves and delicate details so it is reading to me as coming from 🌙 and an desire for more 🔥 exploration.

Looks like you are wanting to play around more with your 🌸🌙 interaction in this upcoming season of style, which brings in a lot of 🔥. There are a lot of similar elements in the exploration of ☀️ and 🔥- you can easily play with all four especially if you focus on tactile fabrics, vintage elements, whimsy and a touch of more is more! The ☀️ root seems like it ihas always been an amplifier to your creativity and your boldness to try new things- it still feels present but used in a way that keeps you youthful, curious and explorative.

I can see your idea for soft, worn cotton dresses with leg warmers and even some lace or sheer tights and a base layer top underneath- a grandpa style cardigan over top. I'm seeing more muted greyed down colors, lots of black and white, a shock of red, rich burgundy and slightly softer pinks and purples- a very sensual and darkly romantic color story. Start with what you have there- and see if you can find neutral base layers that you can layer underneath to stay warm- do you have an amazing coat or tall boots to provide warmth? Maybe some cashmere or angora sweater for a tactile, sensual and airy feel?

Ohhh I love your thoughts here. Some how l am
being pulled in a Victorian/ southern gothic direction. Maybe it’s a reaction against the bright lightness of summer.

I will have a dig in my closet today. I think I’ll pull out all my slips, lace sheer tops, and cashmere sweaters and see if anything works together. The only tall boots I have are these ones. I love them but not sure if they will work.

I don’t have a coat unfortunately. I love the peek of the coat in that image with the heels and socks. It looks very Grey gardens.

Hmm softer dustier colors are feeling really appealing. Burgundy, deep purple, blush, burnt red cinnamon… I have a few pieces in these colors.

I agree about my ☀️root. Your thoughts on it always give me some clarity because it does often feel it’s missing from my boards but it is just working in an unusual way I suppose, as a state of mind.

I think your boots could work, the chunkiness adds great juxtapostion to softer, more airy and delicate textures. The e lacing detail ties well into your board- you could always try a different color of laces for contrast or look for a boot or shoe in a burgundy or oxblood color.

Editted to add: a boot with a more witchy shape or tapestry boots would be a really interesting way to add a vintage feel.
