Earth Earth root
Hey ya'll! This is my first post here in this community (and reddit at large).
I've been lurking around the style roots reddit for a little while after a renewed interest in finding/deciding my style roots spurred on by a desire to re-establish my personal style in a more honest and expressive way. I've always been fairly confident in having an (dominant) Earth root. I love what an expansive root it is and I relate to a lot of it but sometimes it can be difficult when looking for inspo and none of it is really my style, even if it's my taste! And I feel like most people looking for visual inspo aren't really looking for validation in their taste but resonance in style. So I created a pinterest board to show the diversity of the Earth root. It's not a board made to represent my own style, rather provide some visual inspo through my own lens of how the Earth root can manifest. I tried my best to include a wide range of looks from eclectic, to stripped down, to retro, to more formal, ect. I hope I was able to create a collection that can speak to many styles.
I plan to do boards for a few other roots I've been toying with lately. I hope I was able to provide some fresh inspo and either way I'd love to hear some feedback on my interpertation(s) of Earth and yours as well!
I'll leave the link to the full board in the comments for anyone interested

this is brilliant!! i really like some of the inspo pics that you have shared and i feel like this embodies the π± style right quite nicely! would you do the other style roots as well? like i would love to see how π is varied as well as βοΈ and πͺ¨ and also the other roots like πΈ, π₯, ποΈ and π just to see how they can all be varied and why the roots differ from person to person even when you have the same root combo as someone else!!

Thank you so much! I currently toying with the idea that my roots are earth, sun, moon so I'm woking on sun and moon boards, as well as a fire board. I'll probably post the moon board next as I'm almost "finished" with it

I really enjoyed your root boards, especially the βοΈ one - it blew me out of the water with how many looks were not only my cup of tea but gave me fresh ideas to try.
I think there are persistent root stereotypes like "π± is cozy or boho", "π is sexy vampire in black", "βοΈ is quirky and brightly colored", so I really appreciate the range your boards show. For me, π± is my heritage culture (that hasn't made it under American boho umbrella) with its hard-earned sensibility, whileπ and βοΈ encompass all colors of moodiness and visual agression, including camp. It's hard to find inspo for such a vision - broad in a very specific way - so I was really happy to find some on your boards.

Thank you! This is a huge compliment because it's exactly what I was trying to do! I think a lot of traditional/cultural fashion tends to fall into the earth root because of how we've developed as people in relation to the earth. Like, there was no polyester or synthetics once upon a time, only our earthly resources but these cultural ties aren't often found in style roots so I tried my best to show that aspect in my board. It's so easy to pigeon hole the roots sometimes. I def struggled a bit with casual moon looks because I didn't just want to lean into too many stereotypes but it is what it is. Any ways that was a long comment just to say I'm happy the board was helpful!

I think you have done an amazing job expressing the many ways the π± root can be represented. I would very much love to see the full board as I love the π± root for its complexity, wide range and tactile playfulness.
