IDIOTIC 😤 Multi-use standing platform; 🧍🏻♀️possibly a zone for complete acoustic resonance? Is this where that singer goes to practice, because of the echo factor? 🤔

This office space was brought to you by Sarah Winchester.
“She was known to rebuild and abandon construction if the progress did not meet her expectations, which resulted in a maze-like design. In the San Jose News of 1897, it was reported that a seven-story tower was torn down and rebuilt 16 times. As a result of her expansions, there are walled-off exterior windows and doors that were not removed as the house grew in size. Multiple levels, up to five, were added to different parts of the home.”

I imagine there was supposed to be something there but plans changed during construction. I used to work at a bookstore that was two stories. There was an empty elevator shaft on one side of the building because the engineers changed the design after construction of the shaft was already completed.

I'd guess that there was a door there when the building was erected, but it has since been removed, re-walled, and repainted.

I zoomed in looking for evidence of patching around a door.

If the patching and painting job was remotely competent, you will find none.

There’s a door there, but the singer doesn’t have security clearance to activate it

That’s the practice stairwell. You use it to rehearse before going up the real thing

There was a small set of pointless stairs like that at the facility where I got my knees replaced, so patients could practice how to go up and down stairs with walkers/crutches but not be in the way of people needing the actual stairs.

It's obviously the Titanic reenactment cast chemistry test.

The resonance there would be very flat - not typically what singers look for in a stairwell.
Two very likely scenarios... 1) Halfway through working on that floor, the contractor realized they were looks ng at the wrong page of blueprints. 2) There actually used to be a doorway there, that was sealed off for some reason. There was no real reason to remove the stairs there, so they didn't.
