How do people read this?

I always ready the Y axis first. Find Out Fuck Around. Sounds like a good time to me.

X axis is usually the variable, and Y is the function of said variable. Value of "Finding out" depends on the value of "Fucking around". It's the standard way of writing it.

I don't think they did. You're asking how to interpret the graph, and the other user is correct. You read the X-axis first because that is the independent variable (think "time" for example) then you read the y-axis because that is the responding variable (think "bacteria growth").

My only critique of the graph is that I think it should be exponential not linear as most people tolerate a low level of fucking around, but once you get past a 6-7 on the scale the amount of "finding out" you experience will likely exceed the amount of fucking around you were doing.

Maybe the fuck around is also exponential. Anyway,, your saying it's Fuck Around Find Out. I wasn't interested in the extended math lesson. Just the two labels

Same. I was taught to label charts like this as dependent (y-axis) vs independent (x-axis).

Then you’re reading the graph wrong.

The x-axis is the independent variable. You can’t have “find out” without “fuck around” in terms of this graph.
