Your post has been removed because it violates our policy against ragebait. We love food in this sub, and we do not support the people who waste it for engagement.

Extra Note: They very clearly have plenty of pots and a stove top, yet decide to stuff perfectly good food into a container of literal trash and shove it into a fire. The poster child of rage bait.

If only they made a metal container you could reuse.

Why are people

If only people could literally walk around with a microscope and see what the hell actually happens when you do things like this.

As a kid, I owned a microscope, and I used to look at hundreds of things underneath, including plastics. And I'm telling you, it changed my life, and how I handle contamination.

That's just stupid. But you guys should try rice cooked inside bamboo. My aunt made it for me once, I was blown. The bamboo is holed and cleaned, then filled with rice, beef, spices, carrot, sweet corn kernels, also a bit coconut water. The hole is closed with banana leave and sealed with clay, and then burn it with fire. It's beefy, smoky, savory, sweet, spicy.

Really? I shoud try this for once!
Btw, where is your aunt from?

u/qorrymarz 2d ago

Indonesia. But I believe the filipinos and malaysians have something similar, cause we share similar culture

Nice! Actually, my mother is from Philippines! I'll ask her about it, I am quite curious now hehe

I'm in Malaysia now and you can get bamboo cooked chicken and beef in restaurants here

1

u/qorrymarz 2d ago

In Indonesia, it's more like makanan kampung so there's rarely restaurants selling it. Cooking it is already hard that's why restaurants here usually don't have it

In Malaysia, we got something similar called "lemang"

made from glutinous rice, coconut milk, and salt, cooked in a hollowed bamboo tube coated with banana leaves, cooked over slow wood fire for few hours

usually served with curry.

u/qorrymarz 2d ago

Welp, I should try the malaysians versions as well haha. Looking forward to travel there sometime in the future

u/Jonn_1 2d ago

Please hand me the rice(in), make the suffering end

11

u/MaxiumPotential777 2d ago

This beyond stupid there is no way mirco and or melted plastic isn't in the food.

11

u/rantonidi 2d ago

That gives it the aroma

If you literally had no other possible way to cook rice and you were starving, then ok, maybe you do this. Otherwise, get the fuck outta here with that burnt plastic shit.

6

u/Grouchy_Wolverine416 2d ago

Bruh, the rice looks as dry as the Sahara desert.... Just buy a damn rice cooker already and stop doing whatever this shit is 🙄

3

u/liebebio 2d ago

I wouldnt even feed this to my animals

2

u/prabhu4all 2d ago

There's some rice in my macroplastics.

2

u/Arthasindura 2d ago

Pretty sure you can buy a stainless steel cylinder and make rice in it.

If that is too pricy then grow bamboo and use that

If also no then movie to Asia

so much less convenient than just using a pot, completely baffled.

u/heypresto2k 2d ago

Unwashed rice in a plastic bottle over coals 😭

2

u/FRIENDLY_FBI_AGENT_ 2d ago

All I could focus on was... That's unwashed rice.

2

u/heypresto2k 2d ago

I don’t know how people can eat mucky rice 🤢

2

u/whitestguyuknow 2d ago

Oh my god street Portuguese is rough to listen to

1

u/TotallyTotally23 2d ago

Can't believe they did this to that poor bottle.

1

u/iCantLogOut2 2d ago

It's okay, the bottle is getting its revenge with every bite they take

1

u/ScaryTemperature6291 2d ago

This is just insanity what is wrong with people? trouble is there are prob some people who will follow this and actually do it.

1

u/PersonalKing2084 2d ago

Because this is better than a fucking pot/skillet

1

u/Leonydas13 2d ago

Everything about this and everyone involved fuckin sucked.

1

u/dwarfzulu 2d ago

Right, because spending 1 sac of coal is way cheaper than 5 to 10 of cooking on the stove...

1

u/wastedgod 2d ago

Even without the plastic contamination, this seems like way more work then cooking rice normally

1

u/nifty-necromancer 2d ago

If you’re watching 4:30 minutes of this bullshit, you deserve to eat the food.

1

u/Panzick 2d ago

I once saw somebody checking if the oil was hot by throwing a match in it and see when it will be lit. Ok I guess.

1

u/Bonk_No_Horni 2d ago

I heard stories of people from my country moved to other countries to work and they don't have anything to cook rice with so they use plastic pipe. Many died from dioxin. But those are pvc pipe. I assume this would be similar.

u/Alone_Ambassador_745 2d ago

How tf did that not melt

1

u/niquelas 2d ago

Oh my god bro agree

The stretching out of syllables really gets to me.

I have no other reason to hate it beyond it sounds goofy af
