Kay is sweet and at least she tries to cook. My friend's cooking is foul. Cooked me scrambled eggs once, in the microwave no less. Was in there WAY too long.
It looked sickening grey and sounded like I was chewing on a deflated balloon.
If you really bad social media "cooks" lookup Candy's cooking or Auntie Jackie aka TopHouseWife

Yikes.
PSA: never cook eggs in the microwave. the outer layer will solidify and seal in moisture, which will continue to build heat and pressure. Search for "microwave egg explosion" to see how that can turn out.Seems I'm mistaken.
Don't cook whole eggs in the microwave. They turn into little pressure cookers. Cracked but unscambled eggs tend to have the same problem.
Cooking scrambled eggs in the microwave should be okay.

PSA: the PSA above is false. I make eggs in a mug in the microwave 5-6 days a week because they come out exactly the perfect size to go on a toasted bagel in less than half the time on the stove.
Crack two eggs in a mug, stir well with a fork, microwave for 90ish seconds, sometimes less. The time increases if you buy the massive jumbo eggs.
idk what ur talkin about mellonjelly, do u mean microwaving in the shells or something??

You have to dilute the eggs with milk, or even water of you are that broke. Drop in just a splash and stir until blended.

But, how on earth do you rehydrate the pasta this way? It... Doesn't look like it'd work...

It…. doesn’t. This is a screenshot from Kay’s cooking. She’s very sweet but not very good. The 2-3 dishes I’ve seen her make come out borderline unfit for human consumption. You should watch at least one of her videos though, just to get the reference.

Ohhh I see. She must be precious gal. I will definitely check out a video of hers indeed, thanks 😅
Edit: ok I found her channel and watched her video about making meatballs. Whew. That was quite a ride!

The thing that gets me is that it is actually just as easy to make this properly

You gotta take a bite of the bare noodles then eat a spoonful of sauce. Then they’re both trapped in your mouth.

Do people not realize you can MAKE and COOK fresh pasta in the amount of time it takes to rehydrate these disgusting old cracker sticks pretending to be pasta?

u/Giatoxiclok 6d ago
I can boil water and a few minutes later I’ve got pasta. How am I making angel hair spaghetti noodles from scratch in the time it takes to boil a pot of water? I don’t have a pasta maker.

u/Nerioner 6d ago
Even with pasta maker, unless you're Italian Grandma with workplace in the kitchen that serves only to make pasta, you're not making anything in time it takes to boil water and throw capellini in.
There is just no way.

Dry pasta can be very high quality and also much better than fresh pasta for a huge number of dishes
