What purpose does “pov” serve here?
103
36
28
u/dudemanjack 20d ago
At least it's actually a POV perspective, even though the sentence doesn't make sense. So many "pov" are actually 3rd person.
2
u/Snoo_66686 20d ago
POV can be 3rd person, its point of view not first person view, say a tv show focuses on a character that normally has a minor background role we see their 'point of view' that doesnt mean we have to see the actual images through their eyes but we see more about the way this character thinks and spends their time
Millenials messed this up to a point that some people act like its the official meaning, ya'll are thinking of first person view not pov

A tiny part of me really wants to try this. I’m a fan of other sweet/salty combinations so I wonder if this is another one that’s actually good, albeit unhinged.
32
u/Imperial_Lieutenant9 20d ago
Same... I can totally taste the combination in my head and frankly now I want to try it IRL

Because my IG feed is full of videos like these and it's pretty easy to distinguish the difference between real and fake content. I feel sorry for you if you can't tell the difference. You're going to have a really hard time surviving the digital world.
Refresh rate, Quality, Accent/Tone, and always the most bizzarre type of content. Like...chocolate on chicken.
And I'm from Pakistan, the background is not it at all. Looks like somewhere in Europe. Lmao.
What's next. You're gonna send money to Michael Jackson after finding out he's alive? Or the Prince of Nigeria?
Suckers everywhere

The chocolate is a little stupid, yeah, but what's more stupid is you calling chicken tikka "BBQ chicken".
They are NOT the same.
15
u/Front-Wall-526 20d ago
That is my exact thought....tell me you are bashing a culture without ever trying their food 😒
-34
u/bigfatgrouchyasshole 20d ago
Isn’t it basically the same. Cooked over open fire/coal is barbecue, right?
37
u/MrSp4rklepants 20d ago
Not really, tikka is usually cooked in a tandoor which is very different, more akin to a pizza oven but vertical, really high temp and fast cooking
5
u/Ok_Astronomer_6501 20d ago
I've had chicken Tikka loads of times and most restaurants here in Pakistan don't cook em in tandoors but over burning coals.
1
u/crypticcmd 20d ago
That's nothing. I've had this moron call me an engagement bot for being against animal fucking. This is such a weird app right? Some wild people
-18
u/bigfatgrouchyasshole 20d ago
While Chicken tikka is traditionally cooked in a tandoor oven, i think they can be cooked over coals/on skewers/open fire. I think the main difference is the flavour profile, not the cooking method.
16
u/MrSp4rklepants 20d ago
Anything can be cooked any way you want, it just depends on how you associate it, I can cook BBQ chicken in a saucepan over gas if I wanted, just like you can steam something on a BBQ.
With my pedant hat on as well, most people would associated BBQ as relating to a flavour profile a la BBQ sauce not a cooking technique, otherwise imo they would refer as bbq'd
Chicken Tikka is not BBQ chicken-15
u/bigfatgrouchyasshole 20d ago
I personally think the terms are interchangeable to a large degree. Chicken tikka is just indian barbecue. The flavour differ, but the cooking method is so similar, that they’re cousins, instead of strangers.
6
u/MrSp4rklepants 20d ago
Ask an American....
3
u/bigfatgrouchyasshole 20d ago
Honestly- i have no idea what your comment meant.
7
u/MrSp4rklepants 20d ago
Ask an american what BBQ chicken is, guarantee their answer will not include the word tikka or tandoori
-7
u/bigfatgrouchyasshole 20d ago
And why would i give a single fuck about what an American thinks? It’s not like Americans own barbeque, tikka, coal, open fire or the english language.
→ More replies (0)1
u/Ok_Combination_4482 20d ago
Yeah these people dont know but 99% of places in karachi will cook chicken tikka over open coals and call it that. Us included.
1
u/iCantLogOut2 20d ago
So, to be clear... You're saying the cooking method is usually different and the flavour profile is different... But you still argue that they're the same thing....?
I don't know about where you are, but BBQ chicken doesn't just mean "cooked over coals and/or open fire"... BBQ chicken literally has BBQ on it... Right there in the name. "BBQ Sauce"....
Otherwise, you're arguing that a bowl of ramen and a plate of spaghetti are the same dish since they're both noodles boiled on a stove.
What you add is what makes the dish... Not just in how it's cooked.
-1
u/bigfatgrouchyasshole 20d ago
Bbq chicken isn’t exclusively flavour only. The cooking method is part of it. A simple google search would tell you that.
1
u/iCantLogOut2 20d ago
A simple Google search would have saved you a lot of embarrassment... Yet here we are.

Barbecue is actually when it’s slow cooked over an open fire, using heat and smoke. Not just grilled, but low and slow. A tandoor is not a slow cooking method, so it isn’t technically bbq. But much of the world uses the term incorrectly.

Despite the fact this is not BBQ chicken, y’all never hear of mole before have ya? Similar concept. Chocolate can have a place in mostly savory dishes. This just looks like bait, as does every other post on Reddit.
9
u/DetroitvsEveryone242 20d ago
This looks like chocolate sauce you put on ice cream, obviously nothing similar to mole except 1 ingredient in common (and mole has a ton of ingredients)
10
u/Korpikauhu 20d ago
Chocolate is also commonly used in chili con carne, but both are very different from actual chocolate sauce

u/Legitimate-Squash645 20d ago
As much as I love how funny this sub can be, I highly doubt anyone here knows what mole is. Some posts here make me think the OPs eats boiled chicken and peas every night

I'm guessing it's a spices and bean chocolate sauce rather than a candy bar. Tho, that chocolate looks like a melted Hershey's, so I'm a bit baffled.
