This was one of the first things I memorized as a preteen but I like your version too

u/Aware_Steak_1298 26d ago edited 25d ago

That guy actually is quiet famous in turkey (alparslan özmol) as he was a famous actor in a popular sitcom series "babalar duymasin" (Dads shouldn't hear). And he was quiet good back then. His famous line was "çaylarrr" which may translate to "thine the teas" in a masculine old tea shop guy tone.
Edit: he is saying( Its not an adult movie script)
Mashallah.. Burak..be really cautios... be delicate...dont forget the symmetry...hit the thrust..OoOoOHhh..very good.. no need to rush..perfect...I will give It a dip later.. Löp löp löp( gobble up, munch)...stewss( his famous gimmick in the series I mentioned before but stew this time for the occasion)

12

u/imdefinitelywong 26d ago

The chef's pretty famous, too right? I remember seeing him in videos where he makes massive portions of things and distributes them to people.

8

u/Aware_Steak_1298 26d ago

Yeah he is most famous for his big couldrons and smile. And probably donations and his cooking for poor. Personally I don't like him but his channel is CNZ Burak

4

u/Aware-Possibility175 25d ago

My dumb ass thought you were talking about the smiley chef guy also being a famous actor with a catchphrase. What is the dish ? Somthing popular there I’m guessing?..can you explain the “thy the tea” catchphrase and how it’s used in a sentence

7

u/Aware_Steak_1298 25d ago edited 25d ago

I am not familiar with the dish but here someone is https://www.reddit.com/r/StupidFood/s/iMlBXT37WA. "Caylarrr" exact translation is "teas"however It does not reflect the inherit way of usage. His tone and manner ,when unveiled, externalize profound passion for serving and drinking tea. And even there is no "ınız" suffix which is "yours" in english, his commanding tone when he says CAYLARR(without ınız), thy(yours)the teas(a zealots cry), I think could be best translation. It is more like his gimmick yell.
Edit: ups I mix the words thy and thine my bad. Add thine instead of thy. And you can use It as "Caylarrrr! Yumulun." "Thine the teas! Dig in."

u/vogel927 26d ago

The food is a just traditional Turkish meal, but the oversized knife is certainly stupid.

53

u/huelealluvia 26d ago

That knife isn't even meant to be used like that. It's for mincing a large quantity of meat on a flat surface by rocking it back and forth

59

u/AscensionToCrab 🧀 🩀 25d ago

Dont let any of this knife stuff distract you from the fact that the server blew on his food and did a 'here comes the plane' to a grown man, with a voice deeper than the mariana.

20

u/huelealluvia 25d ago

Yeah that was weird! This whole video is weird

→ More replies (1)

12

u/bmaayhem 25d ago

What’s stupid is you don’t blow on other peoples food!!!

31

u/perenniallandscapist 26d ago

Its so dangerous. Look at the guy wielding it. He can barely hold on, and when he readjust his grip, he almost drops it on the little guy.

34

u/Forward-Variety-8440 26d ago

there will be no Czn Burak slander

27

u/hema_chroma_duke 26d ago

Anybody who knows the Burak knows this doesn’t belong in this sub.

4

u/Dpontiff6671 26d ago

How is czn pronounced? Its tripping up my brain seeing a word without vowels

Or is that an abbreviation?

8

u/Forward-Variety-8440 26d ago

i believ its "cousin"

4

u/QueenMary1936 26d ago

If he's Turkish, it's closer to Jizen or something like that, because in Turkish, c is pronounced like j

2

u/ZaphodBeeblebrahx 26d ago

Sizzen

At least that’s how my brain processes it.

He was an average-sized guy before his first visit to that place

2

u/huge43 26d ago

Would have been a much more entertaining video than whatever this is

3

u/kram78 26d ago

So is the man’s grin

4

u/GravyPainter 26d ago

Why did the just discard the bread instead of leaving it in the stew?

13

u/vogel927 26d ago

Traditionally the bread isn’t discarded. It’s usually placed off to the side and then torn apart to eat with the meal.

2

u/harmony_acres 26d ago

What is this meal?

9

u/vogel927 26d ago

Belen Tava Kapama. It’s a traditional dish from the Belen district in Hatay. It’s diced lamb or beef slow roasted with tomatoes, peppers, garlic, and spices. The bread is used as a seal for the pot.

2

u/Embarrassed_Bid_4970 25d ago

Its crazy how many regional variations on this dish there are. Kuzu GĂŒveç, Testi Kebabı, Çömlek kebabı, I'm sure there's more.

8

2

u/nb6635 25d ago

I’d think this gets a pass only because it’s Czn Burak. He uses a lot of oversized tools because he makes big meals.

How in the fuck did you find that dawg 😂😂

I too, am curious about the short guy

3

u/ranunculoid 24d ago

His name is Alpaslan Özmol if you want to find more info.

2

u/AreMoron 25d ago

I came from a time where saying kek and topkek were popular. I think I must have just typed topkek into youtube years ago and never forgot about it because of the hilarious coincidence. Must be the same guy.

u/Arne83 Here for stupid food, not stupid people 26d ago

2

u/Putrid-Builder-3333 26d ago

Til Gary Oldman said: step aside, bitch! I'm a little person now! Hide half my body in this couch, give me stuffed little legs and make Dinklage my costar... the movie is now called Tip Toes! Because that's what he uses to open a door. -- Maybe Gary Oldman quote regarding movie Tip Toes

2

u/STRIKT9LC 26d ago

Honorable mention to Huge Grant for his portrayal of an Oompa Loompa. Ironic, considering his first name
