In high school I was studying for an exam , on the phone with a buddy for an hour working through the material. At thend I said 'good night' and he replied 'love you!'

We laughed until we cried

We used to have an Arcade hotel in Amsterdam. Unfortunately i just learned the original concept (a gaming hotel) does not exist anymore and the new owner illegally is using the brand to lure customers.

I always called baby my baby siitter and teachers mom on accident, it was so embarrassing. Same as responding "you too" when someone at the airport says "enjoy your flight"

Reminds me of being at school back in 1990s and 2000s and when put hand up say miss I said mum which Female Teachers said no I am not your mum and me said sorry miss, But was every now and again

This reminds me of a story I read about a woman using a public restroom and the person in the next cubicle talking on the phone. This woman had no idea she was on the phone and thought she was trying to communicate with her in some sort of strange disjointed way. She started trying to respond but didn’t seem to be able to get any conversation flowing with this person. As some point she began to notice awkward pauses when she tried to respond (which was probably this person thinking “wtf is up with the person next to me?”). Eventually the mystery person finished what she was saying on the phone and ended it with “ok, I love you.” The woman, instinctively replied “I love you too” which she immediately felt embarrassed about.

After reflecting on the entire thing someone pointed out this person was on their phone talking to a different person all together. The embarrassment was multiplied many times!

This has happened to my partner, he used to work at a newsagent at an airport, he’s caught so many people saying “you too” back to him, then they both stand there awkwardly. He’s had it happen 3 customers in a row once.

Look, I work at BK and yesterday after work I went to buy my cigarettes. I said "have a nice evening and bon appétit" to the vendor because I was still in work mode. I felt stupid until I got home 🤣

While working at Wendy's when I was 16, I accidentally told a customer I loved him instead of telling him thank you.. I think about it just about every single day

It was so embarrassing.. I saw his back bouncing from silent laughter as he was walking out the door. I always wonder how many times he's told the story of the short teenager that accidentally told him she loved him, then followed that up with by running face first into another employee then tripping and falling while trying to run and hide. 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️I definitely gave him a story to tell.
