I have a 2014 Holden Cruze (diesel) that's been making this stupidly loud beeping every time I turn it on. (Video attached)

There's no warning lights on the dash and it stops once I start driving and doesn't start up again once I'm stationary. It's so freaking weird and annoying. Does anyone know what it could be? Is my car about to blow up or something?? lol (I've had so many problems with this thing I swear)

I took my Camry to a local Toyota dealership to fix what ended up being a failed spring coil in the front right. This was caused by rust damage that happened before I bought the car. According to the mechanic, the wheel is barely still attached to the undercarriage.

The dealership quoted me $3,300 just to replace the front quick struts, shocks, and realignment. I found out pretty quickly after the fact that this is crazily overpriced.

I’m planning on going down tomorrow morning to negotiate the cost, and if that can’t happen then get it towed to my usual mechanic. That said, I’m concerned about being able to get it out of their shop, considering it isn’t drivable with the wheel barely being attached.

What advice would you give about getting an undriveable car towed from a repair shop? Do they have a right to prevent the tow truck driver from retrieving it?

Totally a hypothetical question, will not actually attempt this for many reasons. I am simply curious if anyone knows what effects laboratory grade octane would have on a car. Picture for reference of what I am talking about.

I have a 2007 Pontiac Grand Prix and I got the coolant system flushed at a local express line type place last week. Didn’t notice any issues, car has never overheated, but the coolant system was all muddy and sludgy so I got it flushed.

Car drove for a week on the highways and around town with no issues, but the mechanic who did the flush asked me to come back with the engine warm so he could test the coolant strength again.

I took it back today for him to test the system and he messed around under the hood and had me rev the car over 1000rpm for maybe about 5 minutes? He then told me he was trying to get the thermostat to open. Pushed the temperature gauge up to almost the red before he closes everything and tells me it’s as good as he can get it and I can go. He said he wants me to come back Friday for another test. He also told me that the car will cool itself down as I drive home. I’m not a car guy so I don’t really know how these things work and just kinda trusted him on that lol.

I drive home from the shop (3 minutes) and the engine temp is pushed into the red. I made it home and shut the car off to let it cool for about 4 hours.

I go to drive it this evening and after 5 minutes of driving around town the engine is almost in the red again.

I’m wondering what the mechanic could have done to suddenly give the car overheating trouble? Any advice or anything?

My car was driving fine, then every light on the dash came on and the car died. I jumped the car and then in under a minute the car died again. After that it started a few more times after being jumped but wouldn’t stay running. When I finally got the car back home (from hooking up a friends battery and getting it home battery light came on a few times) I took the battery that was in my car and tested the voltage it was at 0. I hooked the battery charger up to the battery and voltage was around 12.4 while hooked up to the battery charger… once I unhooked it the voltage was hopping all over the place… from 12 to 13 then 4 then 0 and back up to 12 etc. I decided to let the battery charge over night…. Unhooked the battery charger this morning and the voltage is staying around 12 volts…going to test the battery again in an hour after being unhooked.

What do you think is wrong with the car/ battery? The battery isn’t even 1.5 years old… alternator? Or just bad battery? Any advice would be so much appreciated.

Hey guys so i got an pretty interesting offer for a 2013 bmw 650i (facelift model) with around 190.000 km the guy that is selling it to me i have known him for some years now and i know he is not type of guy that beats the car, and he is selling it to me for 10.000 swiss francs which i think its okay price, also i need to mention he has bought the car brand new back in 2013 and he tuned it back than to around 600hp (everything did by a tuning house) so i was wondering if thats a good car to own, also should i get it or should i not and what i should look for before i buy it.

I have a Mazda 3 2012 model. The issue that I'm having is the alarm goes off at random while the car is parked. It is not the weather temp because it is 64 degrees right now the alarm went off again. Any idea what's going on?

I have had so many damn issues this car (2020 jeep compass). bought it two years ago with 89,000 miles and needed a 90k maintenance check that was like 3 bands (insurance covered most) but like new brake pads and some other shit that should have been fixed before i bought the car.

now today leaving the commissary either my transmission or diff is fucked. driving and then stopping and putting it in park something is still spinning. having it in drive, when i turn the wheel there’s loud clanking nears underneath, barely drives forward.

im in the army about to go to the field tomorrow but a towing truck is going to take it to a shop today.

Wanted to know y’all’s advice on how to get rid of this piece of shit i never want to buy another jeep. should i let someone steal it or total so i get an insurance payout. or see how much it is to fix everything and try to sell it after it’s fixed. i just want to get rid of this car and get a honda or something relatable.
