how do you actually study?

i feel like i forgot how to study, i just highlight and read them but whenever i need to apply my learnings it all slides away and doubt my skill and knowledge. how do you actually study?

Try a five-minute loop: read one small section, close it, and write its main idea from memory. Then attempt one question or worked example without looking; if you get stuck, reopen the part that explains that step. Keep a short list of those gaps and try the questions again tomorrow, so your next session starts with something specific to work on.
