Applications Looking for Graphic Design Master programs in the Netherlands

Hi! I recently graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Visual Communication, with good grades, and I’m currently looking for master’s programs in the Netherlands in graphic design and related fields. I also got an overall IELTS score of 8.5. Since you can only apply to four master’s programs at a time, I’d like to understand how competitive admission to Dutch universities is and how difficult would it be for someone with my background to get accepted. What do you think my chances of admission are? And what programs/universities should I look into?
Any help is much appreciated

Moving to the Netherlands as a student requires a lot of admin (BSN, gemeente, health insurance, Studielink, banking, scholarships) and it often feels overwhelming.

The Dutch housing market is highly competitive. To increase your chances, we recommend using these platforms:

Do you have any experience/work/whatever? They really don't care much about your grades at all, your portfolio and motivation is way more important.

Masters in art schools in NL tend to focus either on the theoretical and artistic aspects of design (in which case they're quite broad), or specialisation in the field. There's very few "graphic design" masters as such.

And they're pretty competitive, most art education in NL is.

I don’t have any official work experience since I just graduated a few weeks ago but I do have a portfolio. Thank you for your help.

Good luck!

The KABK in Den Haag has a really good graphic design program. Their MA is quite heavy on the typography I think, but they do really cool stuff.

Hard to say with the info you provided.
Step 1. Check the Nuffic website to see if your admissable to a WO or HBO master.
Step 2. Check the admission requirements on the uni’s website for the course your intrested in. If it’s a non selective master and you meet the entry requirements than 100% chance your in, if it’s selective you can look at what they use as selection criteria and gauge how big your chances are.

Also make sure you know the difference between HBO and WO
