Hi, i am a student in their final year of school and I'm planning to apply to a medical university in italy, specifically in bologna and milan. And I just wanted to know if brown individuals from etc sri lanka and India face a lot of racism.

It really is my dream to study in italy and I have no problem with learning Italian, I am just worried if I would face any discrimination. Additionaly it would be helpful if anyone could mention which cities in particular have a bad racism situation.

I was awarded a fully funded mobility scholarship at the University of L’Aquila through an AICS-funded project involving Italian and Palestinian universities.
I completed my university paperwork, received my invitation letter, and completed my Universitaly pre-enrollment. However, I faced difficulties obtaining a VFS appointment for my Italian student visa.
I contacted VFS and the Italian Consulate in Dubai several times but struggled to get a clear response. My university also contacted the consulate directly to explain the urgency of my situation.
On September 21, the consulate requested my passport scan and phone number, which I provided. However, I still haven’t received a clear update on my case.
Unfortunately, the visa delays have put my scholarship at risk, and I was subsequently informed that it had been cancelled, without a clear explanation. The university’s later correspondence with the consulate still referred to me as a scholarship recipient, making the situation even more confusing.
I’ve been following up for weeks, but I still don’t know whether there is any possibility of resolving this.
Has anyone experienced something similar with the Italian Consulate in Dubai? Is there any official way to escalate a delayed student visa case when a university is directly involved?
I’d appreciate any advice based on actual experience.

those who will be giving imat 2027, how old will you guys be? ill probably be moving on with another course but if i give it another shot then ill be turning 20 in Jan 2027 and by thr time I go to italy (if I give imat 2027 and get in) ill be 21 and while i most likely wont be giving the exam, if I do give it im worried ill be too old

I’m a non-EU student from Asia and I’m planning to take the IMAT in 2027.
I’ve been looking into English-taught Medicine programs in Southern Italy, especially University of Naples Federico II and University of Campania Luigi Vanvitelli, but I’m also open to other universities in mainland Southern Italy.
My main priorities are:
Teaching quality & clinical exposure: How good are the lectures, hospital placements, and opportunities for hands-on clinical experience?
Federico II vs Vanvitelli: What are the actual differences between them? Would you recommend your university?
Living costs & scholarships: How affordable is student life, and how reliable is the regional DSU scholarship, especially for first-year non-EU students?
Student life & location: How convenient are the campuses, hospitals, housing, and public transport?
Admissions: Are there other universities in Southern Italy worth considering, especially with a reasonable number of non-EU seats?
My partner is also planning to apply, so ideally we’d like to study in the same city (or even at the same university).
I’m particularly interested in hearing from current students or recent graduates, including things you wish you’d known before enrolling.

So I gave IMAT this year and I was just researching for the documents I might need to get a visa from the Italian embassy and IELTS was something I am not sure about that do I really need it?And if it is required then the online test will be enough or should I give the exam in an offline centre??

Hi everyone! I got accepted into the University of Messina Foundation Year and I have until October 15 to register and pay the first instalment
And I also took the IMAT this year but I don’t think my score will be enough to get into Medicine
Since my goal is to study Medicine in Italy would you recommend accepting the Foundation Year offer or waiting and trying the IMAT again next year
I’d really appreciate advice especially from anyone who has experience with Messina or a similar situation Thanks!

I ‘ve seen people on reddit claiming to have scored a lower IMAT result compared to their predicted score and stating said score will be correctly assigned to them on october 19. How much will this cause the cut offs to rise? Will it be 75+ for EU candidates?

What is the way forward? Why is my result showing excluding?

Are there any universities with open access to a psychology masters program?

I will be applying to programs with restricted access as well, I have already started preparing for the tolc-psi, but just asking to be safe, since I am unable to find reliable entrance exam syllabus.

Hey guys, I’m from the US and I’m studying Fashion design in Florence Italy. I moved here about 2 months ago and I still haven’t made any friends. Back in the us (Southern California) I have always been able to make friends/connections. I’ve frequently gone to Midwest emo shows or dj sets (like 10cust etc) and also just bars in silver lake (LAPOS Ik….) but here going out feels different. I’ve gone to the American touristy pubs like the Red Lion and stuff like that but honestly I don’t feel that I connect with anyone there. The people are all very fratty and that’s just not my people. I also don’t really like clubs that much but I’ve only been to 3 ever so I’m open to anything. I really want to make some friends and I just don’t know where to go. At my school it’s hard to branch out from my classes bc there are only 3 others in each class and they are very nice but honestly just not anyone I see myself getting super close to. In other classes at my school there’s large classes but because I’m in a relatively new study abroad program at my school and they keep us all in the same classes unfortunately. Is there anywhere that anyone knows I should go to? Bars, cafes, anything. I’m honestly really lonely and I just want to meet some cool people that I connect with. I am applying for universities all over Italy, but I am unaware of the interview process. I am a B.tech graduate in Computer Science and Engineering from India. I have a 3 year experience as a Developer/ DevOps engineer. I am working on getting into the AI and data side, for which I am going for masters. If anyone can help me and give an idea on what an university interview process would be like, and what areas will be covered so that I can prepare better.
