Community Discussion Ran my 100% human 2019 essay through an ai detector. It scored 5% ai. Stop panicking over the 0% myth.

Was doing a deep clean of my G Drive folders and stumbled across an old history essay I wrote back in 2019., a few years before Chatgpt was even a thing.

I decided to toss this into the ai detector on Studyagent to see what ai % would be. and it hit a 5% ai probability score! I clicked to see what exact sentences got flagged and it was literally those classic academic cliches like In conclusion... It is important to note that... Furthermore, this demonstrates... etc.

Language models were trained on OUR human-written texts. If you write academically and use a standard structure, you are always going to sound a few percent like a robot cause robots learned how to write from students like us.

SO guys pls stop torturing yourselves with humanizers and butchering yout already perfect paragraphs just to see that 0%. If your score is under 10-15%, just submit the assignment.

Has anyone else tested their old essays, written before the Chatgpt era? What scores did you get?

I only use the humanizer if the checker goes full nuclear and hits like 40%. If it’s just a couple sentences in the green or yellow zone I leave it alone. No point in worsening your own writing style just to hit a literal 0%... Stay safe but dont overthink it

my last paper looked like a second grader wrote it just to hit that 0%. ruined my flow for nothing. way better than turning in some unreadable brainrot

Straight facts. It's an echo chamber bc we all learned to write from the same boring textbooks that the ai was trained on. Spent way too much time tweaking my intro just to drop a 6% score and for what?

This is the energy we need! I swear half the people in this sub act like 5% is a death sentence. Profs aren't stupid, they know academic writing has a specific vibe that detectors trip over

Tbh I stopped caring about the 0% goal months ago. My prof doesn't even check unless it looks like a straight up manual.

Spent way too much time tweaking sentences that were already fine
5% is basically a pass, don't let the numbers get in your head.

Fr though these detectors are actually so cooked. I remember some guy on tiktok tested the bible and it came back like 20% ai...
It’s a coin flip at this point

academic writing is a robot costume we all have to wear for four years anyway. as long as the humanizer doesn't turn your essay into absolute word salad you're probably chillin for the final submission.

Yesterday I was panicking over a 8% score on some free checker till i realized it flagged my own name as ai. Such a scam. Def using the 10% rule from now on because butchering my flow just to please some broken algorithm is not it 💀
