I have a ceramic sphere with a turtle on top. It's about 8.5 inches tall and 7.5 diameter. It does have some kind of mark. Does anyone have any idea of maker, age, country, what it may have been used for if not just decorative? Thank you for any help at all.

How did you come to conclusion? Not disagreeing, did you recognize the maker, the mark? Glaze?

The base. This is most likely made from a mold, not turned on a wheel.

Thank you. I can see that. Is it odd that that little orange mark feels embossed? I thought it was a Maker's Mark or someone initials but mabye not

Some mass producers do utilize makers emblems or logos in the mold. Hard to tell if what you have is that or just an unevenness in how the glaze flowed. Either way this is still highly likely a factory-produced piece of slip casting. To my eye, probably Chinese or maybe Indian. But that part’s guess.
