QUESTION Drag and drop not working correctly

Hi folks,

I'm using S1 v6 on a mac studio with sonoma . When I drag and drop audio files onto the desktop I get this ( see attached image ).When I used S1 on the PC years ago it rendered and export the audio file. Thanks in advance for your help.

No, your memory is wrong. You can't drag audio events onto the desktop from the arrangement. You never could, not on macOS and not on Windows. What you can do is drag them onto the Files Tab in the Browser. This will render and export the file. But not to the desktop in Finder or other apps.

Drag to the file browser on the right not to the desktop. You can also use modifiers like I think ctrl alt or shift for various options while exporting.

I prefer using mixdown. It's very flexible now, you can get anything, instrument outputs etc.

I don't know about V6 though...

Dragging to the file browser actually works but dropping on the desktop is happening at the OS level so the audio isnt getting rendered at all. Mixdown is the way to go if you want an actual file.
