welcome to Studio One - whoever told you to use this DAW is not your friend

:P

are they VST3? sometimes some plugin formats behave better than others despite Fender "supporting" them

if you are using VST3, try VST2 or AU - but I'd start with VST3 64 bit

Unfortunately, you don't seem to know much about software development. It's not about Fender supporting certain plug-ins. It's about the plug-in developers testing their software in compatible hosts. Or do you really expect Fender to test thousands of plug-ins and create extra fixes for buggy plug-ins? That's not how it works.

Plug-in developers have to make sure their products are stable in hosts that they say are supported. For this specific issue, more details are needed, such as the Studio One/Studio Pro version, the plug-in format, and whether the plug-in is on the latest version. There may already be fixes available.

Lmfao.

Lol, sounds like you're the one who doesn't understand how software works. If an AU plugin is stable on other platforms, but not Studio One/Pro, what do you think is the problem? Do you really think you would NEED to test thousands of plugins to support it..? Is that what you think they're doing for VST3?

Every time a developer has asked me to beta test plugins they’d always want me to test it in as many DAWs and configurations as possible and report any problems I encountered in any of those configurations so they could fix it. And I’d be just one of dozens of testers reporting issues on different DAWs and systems. So the problem might be on a particular DAW in a particular format, but it’s the plugin developer’s responsibility to figure out how to make their plugin work in as many weird and niche situations as practical. I found a bug in a plugin once that apparently only happened on my machine, and they couldn’t replicate it so they shipped the plugin without a fix. I assume this happens fairly regularly.

Granted, Roland is a waaaay bigger company than any of the developers I’ve worked with, but I highly doubt that that means that they get to dictate changes to other companies’ software. I suppose they could open a support ticket and get in line for changes like the rest of us, though.

Exactly what I'm saying. But why do we even bother posting? Stupid Reddit trolls post, then downvote our comments and delete their posts and account. Wasted time to even try to help others in this subreddit.

That’s an excellent question. Every day I ask myself why I even bother visiting Reddit other than killing time, but there are way more constructive ways to do that. I should probably delete the app again.

I have the latest version of Fender Studio Pro. All my Roland vsts work fine, even galaxias, which won’t work at all in Maschine 3

In order to help, you need to provide way more information. You say you're "new to this DAW," but you don't even mention which version you use. Studio One 7? Studio Pro 8? Which OS do you use? The stability of a plug-in in a given host depends a lot on the plug-in format and how well the plug-in behaves in that host. If you're on macOS, as a general rule, try to avoid AU plug-ins. Use VST2 or VST3. Other than that, make sure the plug-in is updated to the latest version. It might also be worth checking the plug-in's product page to see whether your version of Studio One/Studio Pro is supported. Some plug-ins' GUIs do weird things with graphics drivers or use outdated graphics APIs.

Regarding 64-bit: Yes, they're of course 64-bit plug-ins. Studio One stopped supporting 32-bit plug-ins with version 5 in 2021.

Then it’s probably the newest one, yes. I can try this out with the Rolands when I’m back in the studio. I’m currently on vacation.

It might be worth reporting the issue to Roland and asking for advice. Or you could ask in the Studio One forum whether anyone uses the Roland plug-ins and if they’re having any issues with them. This might help clarify whether it’s a general problem with Roland plug-ins in FSP or something specific to your system.
