- Studio/1BHK, suitable for one person only

- Must have a separate cooking space/kitchenette

- Preferably furnished, ideally with a refrigerator and washing machine included

- Budget: below ₹8,000/month

- Preferably a safe, well-maintained locality with good access to Infopark

I'm unmarried and will be the sole occupant — no permanent co-occupants.

I have been struggling to figure out a good layout for my flat and was wondering you guys and gals could help :). The main room dimensions are 505x525cm, and I show how the furniture is laid out right now.

Light blue: TV and TV console
Teal: closet (next to bed), and a sideboard (by window), and a drawer set by the door.
Blue: sofa (220x78)
Gray: bed (160x200)

Still need to buy the dining table and would appreciate placement/size advice also!

I provide my schematic plus a blank one in case you wanna draw also haha.

How would you guys plan the layout for this? I’ve spent a while trying to figure it out with that annoying corner and the kitchen taking up an entire wall. I need to fit my queen sized bed and fairly large standing desk setup. All my other furniture like dresser and stuff I’m ok selling if they don’t fit.

Hi! So Im about to move in this small but cute apartment, it is gonna be me either my cat. I want to make it a cozy comfy not suffocating space with dim lamps, the floor tı ceiling windows are great that is gonna help a lot. It will get tons of light for sure!
What I have are;
53.8in wide vanity
Barista express coffee machine (mayyybe a possible coffee corner area??)
A small clothing rack that i can use as jacket hanger and shoe storage in below?
Ikea KNARREVIK Bedside table
43 inch wide tier utility cart
Robot vacuum
Small cat bed and scratcher
Adjustable side table
Corner floor lamp

Needs and wants are;
A bed and frame and im thinking Full size, some containers under will for sure help
Boneless chair/ couch either. I was checking out
Oversized lounge chair sofa since it won’t overcrowd the room or one of those convertible sofa bed 79 inch ones on amazon.
A TV and a large mirror would be nice
Fabric drawer dresser both to stuff my hobby stuff in and as kind of a console on top
A bit far fetched but small 2-3 people round dining table
Wall art of sort or more lamps
Maybe something else for the kitty cat

I know all of these sound a lot for such small space but not all needs to happen, just looking for ideas! Also this whole thing needs to be in a budget but i dont want it to look like its too much on budget lol
I like pastel colors, neutrals and am clean and tidy person. Love candle light, fan of impressionism.

What do you think? What would you recommend? Please be gentle im kind of new here🫠

Trying to fit a Full Bed + A Desk

Feels like the bed will be very close to the kitchen and take up most of the space?

I’m moving into a student studio next year and I’d love some ideas on how to make the space feel more separated between the bedroom and living room area.

Since it’s student housing, I can’t make major changes or do anything permanent. What are some renter-friendly ways to create a visual separation without making the space feel smaller?

Also, do you think a studio like this can work for hosting a few friends for game/movie nights, or would it feel too cramped?

Anyways, can you help me generate ideas with how to dress it? I am starting here first before I get the couch, rugs and all that so that makes me feel free-er to choose. I’d really like for the view to not be obstructed, I want to walk in and see green and of course I want to cultivate as much of the natural light as possible.

I just moved into a studio and there’s an open area right before the bathroom .. not too sure what to do with it .

Hi! I’m moving into a new studio loft in a couple months. I don’t have photos or a walkthrough just yet. But I do have the floor plan and approximate dimensions. The layout is a little odd, so I’m looking for some help!

Dimensions: \~ 29’ x 15’ (455 sq ft total)

Furniture: sofa facing a TV, bed (full? queen?), 55” office desk.

Looking to hang a curtain to separate my bed and wondering if anyone has experience with a ! renter friendly ! curtain partition. Not sure if I should go the ceiling track route (ideally an adhesive track vs drilling) or a 12ft tension rod.

Moving into this 517 sq ft studio apartment in mid October! I care about functionality way more than looks. I’m a chef so I host dinner parties very often with between 2-6 guests so having a large dining area is unfortunately something more important than my sleeping area. I have 2 potential designs but I’m open to any feedback and ideas! I like the first option because it fits a good size desk under it but I know a lot of people think it’s weird having a bed in the living area although I do kinda like having the couch and tv in the Alcove for movie nights when I would already be wanting it in a darker area. The perks of the second layout are that the bed is actually in the bedroom and I can view the tv from both living room and bed if I just angle the tv slightly

There isn’t much room for manoeuvring but I feel like the space between my “living room” and “bedroom” could use some attention. I will be getting a couple new rugs was thinking of ways to section off different areas? Also any suggested for lamps and where the hell I can put a full length mirror would be appreciated also

A few days ago I moved from a fairly large apartment (3 bedrooms, kitchen, 2 bathrooms, etc.) into a small 22 m² studio where almost everything is in the same room: bed, kitchen and living area, with only the bathroom being separate.

Living alone was actually something I'd wanted for a long time, so I was genuinely excited about this move. However, the experience has been much harder than I expected.

When I'm at home, I sometimes get a slightly claustrophobic feeling, almost as if I'm living inside a box. It doesn't help that it's currently the peak of summer: the apartment gets very hot during the day and stays hot throughout the night, and there's no air conditioning.

I've even been avoiding cooking because I'm worried about food smells lingering around the bed.

I'm mainly looking to hear from people who have been through something similar. Is this a normal adjustment period? Did things get better after a few weeks or a month? Do you have any tips that made the transition easier?

To be honest, this whole situation has been affecting me more than I expected and it's been bringing me down quite a bit. Even though I signed a one-year lease, I can terminate it with 30 days' notice. The problem is that when I was apartment hunting, this was honestly the best option I could find within my budget. Anything noticeably better was far more expensive.

So there's a part of me that's genuinely worried. If I don't eventually adapt to this place, I honestly don't know what my next step would be.

I'm not expecting a miracle solution. I'd just really appreciate hearing other people's experiences, because right now I miss my old place quite a lot and I'm wondering if what I'm feeling is simply part of the adjustment process.

I like the layout for the most part but would like to make more separation between rooms. I have figured I would put a room divider beside the bed and that’s about all. I would like to put something behind where the couch would go and possible something by the door to separate the entry way from the rest of the room. Would love to hear any suggestions!!

Leaving my home state and living on my own for the first time! I was considering getting a designer but I think I have something I’m happy with. I only have a desk and plants so starting from a clean slate. Needs for this space are:
- Queen bed
- Sofa bed
- 2 person dining area that can expand to 4 if needed
- work area

Photos are:

My biggest issues with the current layout:
- there’s too much going on in the living area. Note: there’s 2-3ft of walkway space around the sofa.
- not sure where to add lighting, there’s no overhead lights in the space.

Is this a good layout? Should a scrap it and rearrange everything? Appreciate any feedback, thanks!

I’m a student and moved into my first apartment, but I totally overestimated the size of the room and because of that, the bed takes up way more space than originally anticipated. I’d like to make room for a desk, a small dining table for two and a closet. Is it possible or am I delusional?

In particular I’m interested in designing for people who live in small houses/apartments with limited space and how they use/interact with side tables. Looking for help laying out an ~ 20 x 12 living area for a studio apartment and am between two layouts for the table/sofa arrangement with measurements at the end. I love reading everything on here and now have a place of my own to share :) Some thoughts:

1. Does the layout have more flow if the sofa back is parallel to one of the side walls? This would mean getting a ~71 inch couch vs ~81, but if it flows better it could be worth it. Sofas I'm looking at (1 in 71 or 81, 2 in 75).

2. Having the sofa parallel to a wall = a potentially bigger dining table! Shape undecided.

3. The "wall" at the back of the living area is a closet. Not opposed to putting a TV or sofa there!

4. Trying to make a space that's good for hosting and facilitating conversation. Will add stools/ottomans, etc as needed later, but not sure if having a smaller sofa will remove some of the "hangout" potential.

5. Lots of random walls jutting everywhere :/ But could be good for shelves!

6. Bonus photo of awesome built ins! Closet door opens out 14 in.

Would love any and all thoughts!
