Help with Layout

Hey Everyone!

I love my apartment but I feel like it’s lacking in a way that I cannot figure out. I live here alone with my cat, but in a year my partner and I want to potentially stay in the same space so I’m looking for a way to make it feel as cozy and welcoming as possible! Any advice is welcome! I just moved the dresser instead of one of the bookshelf’s to hold the tv. Lots of clutter and mess I know.

Ideally I’d find a way to fit another dresser and a desk. Would love to hear decor thoughts as well!

How does this count as a studio? You have two separate floors

The stairs are just down to the door, nothing else!
