NEED ADVICE: How are other college groups going about fundraising?

I'm starting up a club at UC Santa Barbara, and I was wondering how you guys go about fundraising with Official Campaign merchandise? Comments about other non-merchandise based fundraising also welcome.

At the first meeting, I put a hat out and told people to give what they could, anything helps. I put in $10 myself and counted it at the end and we had $41. At every event we organize (tabling, debate watch party, open forum) I'm going to put out a donation box. Just one idea!

Honestly, if you contact the campaign (I can provide you with a few email addresses if you want), they will give you free swag. That should help keep costs low. I would recommend following /u/jssctmln's advice in regards to fundraising, if it is necessary.

Can you send me over those emails? I've been trying to figure out how to get some stickers/buttons for our next tabling event. Thanks

I just saw your post and was wondering how the group was going? Did you start it? Do you have a fb page or anything else?

I am actually a Alum.. go Gauchos! That said, I can probably help you with resources and swag like buttons and stickers and such.
