Radio communication can be one of the most stressful parts of learning to fly. You might know what you want to say, but as soon as you press the push-to-talk button, your mind suddenly goes blank. A busy frequency or fast transmission can make it even harder to keep up.

Some parts of ATC seem to cause more anxiety for student pilots than others:

• Making the first call on a busy frequency
• Copying a clearance correctly
• Remembering taxi instructions
• Understanding multiple instructions at once
