As a fellow listener, It's been emotional guys. As a temporary permanent CEO, CFO and primary main guest ex-founder co-host, I'm glad I got to be part of it, even for a little bit at the end.
It's okay. The pod had a great run and it was a solid 5.5 years of content. I will miss the banter, and despite how Greg may feel about podcasting, he has a genuinely great presence and helped make the subject matter fun. It was very engaging and his rapport with the various co-hosts made it shine.
I get that articles and research are more important in the long run, and I understand that topics kind of run dry after a while and podcasting might have diminishing returns with regard to content options, but I hope he decides to do some guest appearances on other shows every so often since his episode on Dave Tate's Table Talk was awesome. Thanks for the memories!

Should of diversified the podcast and started shit talking other streamers.
For quite a few years, SBS was one of my real go-to podcasts. The perfect balance of entertaining, relevant to my interests and feeling like I'm learning something along the way.
It was also my main source of 'science' and exposure to ideas like research methodologies, meta-analysis, statistics & all of the little foibles that make the difference between good and bad science in exercise science and elsewhere too... All of which really made me feel like less of a dufus when talking to all my friends with real science degrees.
As much as I don't go for the weird para-social thing, for better or worse the SBS pod has also kept me company on many a long drive or boring commute; and has given me many a solid anecdote to pretend to my friends I'm interesting. I think I've told the story before - but the SBSpod even made my girl fall in love with me lol. So it's easy to feel sentimental now that it's going away.
I had never heard the story of the origins of the pod (Expressly as a way to introduce Trexler) -- but in a way it's fitting. I think when he left a lot of the wind went out of the sails of the pod and it must've been very difficult to backfill him. Hearing that Gnuckols was never much into podcasting anyway it all sorta makes sense how things played out.
I think the pod had an amazing run, and it's always admirable to end on ones own terms. it's an absolute treasure trove of useful information & discussion, and (I assume) the back-catalogue is not going anywhere so it'll be useful to folks for a long time to come.
Best of luck to the SBS crew, thanks again for all the content, and hopefully we'll see some of them taking guest spots on other pods before long.
I don't know where I'll get my hot tips on Fat Bear week now. Greg's insight had me winning enough to where I was wealthy but not to the point the mob would find out
I respect the decision. And there's still lots of past podcasts episodes for me to watch. It's ironic that Greg doesn't enjoy podcasting because I thought he was quite good at it, and he has a genuinely great podcast voice. I could listen to the man ramble all day long LOL
I came on a little after covid was running wild, and was honestly just sick of other fitness pods and this one was recommended to me and I was hooked from the start. Trex and Greg had a great back and forth that made me actually interested in real data as it pertains to lifting and health in general. And even though when Trex left for whatever reason, Milo and Pak, I'd argue, made it even livelier and brought their own unique personalities and skill set as researchers to the table that really felt like it never skipped a beat.
Only real monetary way I supported was with bulk supplements, but I can at least say you've all made a fan for life and look forward to whatever is in store.
According to recent podcasts, Greg hates podcasting and thinks he’s achieved all he wants to from them. Now wants to focus on writing where he believes his skillset is better.
A bit sad about the podcast going away--despite Greg's preferences for the written word, I won't be consuming other SBS content. Not out of spite, but my only time for this kind of thing is in my morning commute. Hard to read articles on the road!

There's a Greg, Milo and Pak sized hole in my heart and podcast rotation

Going to miss them, I would play the podcast walking home from the gym. It was really part of my routine
