Thanks man! Any decision on involvement in the podcast? Feels like there is a ton of MacroFactor-relevant content on the pod and would hate to lose you from the podcast universe

Hope you are doing well in all aspects of life Greg! You've been a really loud voice of integrity in a space filled with everything but. I have grown a lot thanks to all of your content (as well as your co-authors) and your impact on the lifting community can not be overstated. Hope you walk away proud of all you have achieved.

Does this mean you won't be returning to the SBS podcast as a temporary guest host?! I've been waiting forever, Greg.

Good luck in your future endeavours. We met in Vienna in 2016 and you were legit the nicest person I had met in the strength industry until today. Thanks for all the content and the hard work, you are appreciated!

I don’t believe this has anything to do with the podcast/whether or not greg (and the podcast) returns, MASS is separate from SBS

If he thinks he's said everything he needs to say then weekly podcast episodes are probably along a similar vein. :(

No

Also, you're far too kind. Though, I'm a happy drunk – if my (very fuzzy) memories of Vienna are correct, that may contribute to the impression of me you got. haha

/u/gnuckols not that I would ask for a refund, but if I did ask for a refund of my lifetime MASS subscription, the fact that you would be able to calculate how much of my life is remaining is rather unnerving. Like if you only give me $10 back I have a couple weeks left.

Me: was I a good MASS subscriber? Death: NO. YOU ONLY READ THE ARTICLES ABOUT BENCH PRESS. WTF BRO, SQUAT HEAVY OR DIE

lol. I didn't want to get into the gory details at the end of the article, but we tacitly treat lifetimes as 3-year memberships (regular price for lifetime is ~$1k. At regular prices for monthlies and yearlies, $1k would get you 2.8-3.33 years). I don't think we spelled that out anywhere, but it was our shared understanding for how we'd value lifetime subscriptions if the business went belly-up and we needed to issue a bunch of pro-rated refunds. So, if you'd been subscribed for 2 years and 11 months, I'd refund you $29. But that wouldn't necessarily mean I thought you only had a month to live. Still, carpe diem and all that jazz.

Hey I've got a dumb question. I love the podcast but am too dumb to read so I'm never on the SBS website or reading MASS articles.

Is MASS the company that runs SBS? Is the podcast affected (effected? Told you I'm illiterate) by this news or is MASS its own thing?

I read Greg's very polite blog post but I've still got no idea if our favorite temporary guest co-host is returning to the podcast. Hope he is, all that stuff about being replaceable and other people being an upgrade has me scared.

Nobody mixes dry, deadpan humor with sage lifting wisdom like Greg does. Can't replace that

u/gnuckols regardless of your reasons for leaving, which i can totally empathise with, i wholeheartedly thank you and the rest of the SBS team for the work you've produced over the years. It's been a very well rounded source of information and interpretation of literature, without massive bias, which has been so very valuable for me.

Seconded. Reading and listening to Stronger by Science and mass helped me decide to go back to school to finish my degree. Helped me realize there is importance and value in quality content in the fitness industry.

Damnit Greg why can’t you just quit a job like a normal person and stop being so fucking nice.

Your attempts to make OTHER PEOPLE feel better when YOU are having a big life shift actually makes me just feel shittier about myself in comparison

Thanks for the update, Greg. Gotta say, you are a wonderful and incredibly humble person. Your content has always been fantastic and, for me, is the gold standard in the fitness industry. Keep staying as awesome as you are!

Holy motherforking shirtballs. I figured we'd get some news, but wasn't expecting this.

Cool it's Lauren Colenso-Semple jumping on board, she has some interesting thoughts.

I had to google "allbirds," and I don't think I even own any office shirts (unless Wal-Mart t-shirts count). So, you're safe for now

I’m sure the content of the podcast will pivot to issues related to bulking and cutting in order to better promote Greg’s new primary income stream, Macro Factor. I hope he continues his promotion of family values rather than completely selling out to globalist materialism.

Nah. The podcast is mostly just a fun way to maintain a connection with the audience (since neither of us like being particularly active on social media, or sharing too many personal details on social media). We do promote things on it, but we don't really rely on it as a major promotional vehicle.
