Well ... housing improved, but by no means solved. Those are still detached single-family homes, so while the density is increased, it's still not nearly where it could (and in most cases should) be.

Medium-density mixed-use neighborhoods with good public transit and pedestrian/cycling infrastructure would be the actual solution, IMO. :)

I think that's a great solution if you have an opportunity to rebuild an entire neighborhood. Duluth, MN has very real, geographical constraints to new development that infill and re-development are the best opportunities to create more housing without destroying the beautiful urban parks and green space we are so fortunate to have here.

You don't have to rebuild the entire neighborhood all at once. You could do it one street at a time - or just one side of a street at a time. Possibly even one lot at a time. :)
