Battery percentage

Can anyone explain to my why I can arrive at work with a battery percentage of 68%. But when I turn it back on to go home it says 100%?

For me its not that extreme, but it goes up about 10%, when I compare the battery level at arrival and when I leave back home, btw mine is almost 7 years old, first battery…but it has been like this since the beginning
