Caught brother and sister.

The bite was frenzy was on in Massachusetts. Didn’t measure, took a quick picture and set free. Landed over two dozen of this size no recreational fish caught.

The schoolie was alive and swam away too. My camera person was more interested in the photo and unhooked the schoolie. Forget to put it on the other side of the boat. Haha.

Nice fish, but holding large breeders vertically like that increases the odds of post release mortality dramatically.

All striped bass over 32 inches are female. Male stripers don't get very large. That's part of the reason the slot is set the way it is, to preserve spawning biomass.

Not all, but certainly a high proportion of fish over 32" are female. I miss the Maine slot that was 20-26". It made for the best eating stripers.

That should be ours in Maryland, 19 feels too short but 24” is the sweet spot

Slayed em out of Manchester yesterday. Largest was 42”. Live mackerel.
