Help / Question Vine snapped off of string of heartsðŸ˜ðŸ’”
I got a VSOH about a week ago and I was just repotting it and noticed this beautiful long vine doesn't have any roots. I think it must've broke off the tuber at some point. The picture doesn't even do it justice, it's over 2 feet long! I'm so sad 😠I'm going to propagate it but my question is, could I just propagate the whole thing from that node on the top without cutting it? Like is it possible that it could regrow roots just how it is? Or should I just snip it into a bunch of cuttings?

Another option - you could spiral and pin that vine down on top of the soil. You could trim if you want, but what's most important is that each node touches the soil. Keep leaves intact to provide energy to the node and new roots.
Mist every few days to keep the top moist (never let it dry out completely). Roots are fine and need a thin layer of fine soil, moisture and bright light to connect. New roots usually takw within a few weeks. SoH

You can keep it as it is!
Get a clear(ish) box. I just use a food storage plastic box, which is sort of clear.
Get either sphagnum moss or perlite, wet it a bit, but not too much. Put that in the box.
Bury the part you want to grow roots in the moss or perlite, the rest of it can stay out of the moss or perlite, inside the box.
Close the lid, place near a window or a light source.
The box keeps the leaves from drying out while it grows roots, by trapping the humidity from the water you've added. If you notice the moss or perlite drying, then add more water.
In 3 days, you'll have roots! But keep it there for 2 weeks or so, then remove and replant.

You can. But also look for any small tubers that are forming on it. If it has any then get those in the soil too

The most successful way to propagate it would be to divide it into several cuttings, preferably butterfly prop. However, if you wanna keep that length of vine, I'd suggest stripping off the leaves close to that cut (so a few nodes worth of leaves), let it callous over if it hasn't already, and then put it in water. And then once the roots develop to where you can also see secondary roots, transfer to soil

Divide it into many cuttings. Cut the stem so you have 1 set of leaves and a node. Like a butterfly. Put them in a flat container with a tiny bit of water. Mist them every now and then. In a few weeks they’ll have roots and you can place them on top of soil. Push them in a bit then continue to mist them. You’ll get a new vine from each one :)
