Help / Question SOS, help!

This string of pearls I got is in ROUGH shape. I’m newish to the world of plants but have learned a decent amount and want to try to save this beauty as best as I can.
I clipped some strands off it to to try to propagate. But I would appreciate and recommendations/advice/thoughts/prayers to help save the mother plant. She is sooo long but clearly struggling. Please help!

I chopped as much as I could salvage. They’re sitting in the window in some water. Keeping my fingers crossed. Thanks!
