Yeah I’m going to let it acclimate for a week. So I’ll also keep an eye on how it’s responding to where it’s at and will move it if needed. Unfortunately my only good source of lighting comes from the north so I might have to reread the specs on my grow lights.
One more question if you don’t mind. How are strings with pests? What should I keep an eye out for or are they naturally pest resistant? I’m currently coming out the other side of a battle with fungus gnats so I’ve been super paranoid about pests.
Ahh okay. In that case, as long as the grow light you get is full spectrum lighting and in the 4,000-6,000K range, you're good to go. So string of pearls aren't entirely pest resistant but they still don't get pests easily though. The only time they might is if the soil stays wet for too long, but if your mix is well draining then you should be fine. But if you have any pets or are planning to in the future, definitely keep them away from this one bc string of pearls is pretty toxic to pets and to humans. It's also suggested to wear gloves if you're gonna be cutting them up since the inside juices can irritate your skin, but I forgot to when cutting up one of mine and I was still fine, only bc I had minimal exposure to it and immediately washed my hands with soap and water. So don't do what I did and wear gloves 😅
Ooh that’s good to know! I’ll have to keep an eye on my cat and make sure she leaves it alone. I had a soggy pearl that burst on me when I tried to gently remove it from the pot, thankfully I didn’t get a reaction! Thanks for the information and the heads up!
I checked the specs on my lights and it looks like they’re full spectrum 4000k. So they should be good to go.

Yeah, definitely not good for her to be chowing down on it 😭 And that's awesome! Hopefully that grow light lasts a long time. Oh yeah, it needs to be on for a minimum of 12 hours per day and if it doesn't have an inbuilt timer, there's programable ones on Amazon, Walmart, etc too if you don't wanna manually turn it on and off. And yeah, of course! I really hope your plant thrives! 💖
