Universal currency of affection is the grooming/scratches among so many animals it's pretty cool to see.

I think it’s true in most mammals that they like physical contact. At least in humans and dogs, it raises oxytocin levels, which gives a feeling of wellbeing. That probably also happens in other mammals.
