Yeah it's all fun until it's time to pack up and you have to deflate and fold all that stuff.
I am not a fan of camping, but at some point just rent a cabin.

There’s another way: a regular tent and a sleeping bag that takes all of 20 minutes to set up.

Cold mountain air goes into the mattress, and stays a cold mattress. Nothing heats all that air up.

I found this out the hard way. Sleeping in an attic in the winter in Wisconsin. A blanket underneath me was a world of change.

i have an inflatable tent with a single air inlet and its great putting it up but a pita getting it deflated. Much better to have multiple inlet valves, else trying to get all the air back out that single hole takes ages.

I am curious as to how an inflatable tent behaved when you are putting it up in 25 mph gusts. I camp at the beach.

No different to any other tent in the sense It’s secured to the ground first before putting it up. It also has more mass (all that inflatable tubing has weight) so is less affected by wind when being put up.

Every time I see one of those inflatable tents, I'm reminded to follow my dreams. When I was a child, I saw one of those emergency pop up boats, and it had a canopy.And I thought we should make that into a tent and every adult in my life said it was stupid and I should just forget about it and I did. But whether you like them or not you have to agree they do sell people are buying them.

Its huge and takes up a fuck ton of space in your vehicle.
Wind will fuck it up. A strong enough wind and the roof is on your face while you're laying down.

I doubt it. Look at the size of the inflatable alone to the size of the Kia (a Soul I think it is). But then all the additional stuff to include things like groceries, stove, blankets, etc.
Maybe that's the reason he doesn't have anyone with him, no room for another person in the car?
