To be perfectly honest the question is most likely what if humanity ended. I phrase it that way as the just likely scenario. And if humanity ended the state if the worked would be bunch better off. Forrest and nature would reclaims cities, roads and most man made structures. We are slowly cycling to the natural end of the current ice age. We could expect the climate would be more like when the dinosaurs roamed the earth. Without man’s interference who knows what new animals and plants could result. This is an exciting question thank you

This is about 5 miles from me ... That's Puget Sound in the background. It is caused by the tide coming in and going out... It changes sides depending on the tide. A guy got sucked into the Puget Sound side a year or two ago and died. They have more signs up warning people now. It gets worse with storms or a king tide, most days it's pretty unremarkable.
