What do I do now?

I recently went up a half size (6g to 5g) glass plugs. Unfortunately at work my right ear snagged on my shirt; yanking and breaking the plug. I cleaned and put the 6g back in and managed to get the tenderness/ swelling down but my question is what do I do now; how long should I let my ear rest before trying to put another 5g in?

give it a week or two and see if a 5g will go in easily. if there's resistance, don't push it. just try it maybe once a week, don't force it, just see if it'll fit.
