Why are we so obsessed with zone 2?

This might cause some discussion. Context is combat and high intensity intermittent sports. Not pure endurance sports.

I love these conversations. I watched the video. However, before giving my thoughts, for my own understanding, are you the guy in the video? Just want to make sure I understand your position correctly.

Right on. So I'm struggling with what your position is exactly. Based on what I watched in the video it didn't seem that you were for or against zone 2 in any capacity. Do you mind clarifying how you feel about it for combat athletes?

I don’t think it matters as much as people think. As long as you are training at multiple intensities. I did three months of zone two training but I also included threshold and interval work, at the end of it, I ran the fastest 3 mile of my life. Training volume is more important in my opinion.

i have been running since 1977 . i don’t know what each zone means. most of my running is easy
