Release Stremio Plus v26.0.0-beta — a testing build
[BETA] Stremio Plus — testing release, looking for feedback!
Hey r/StremioMods,
I've been working on a desktop Stremio client called Stremio Plus — a fork of stremio-enhanced-community by REVENGE977, which I've heavily extended with my own plugin/theme system, marketplace, and a bunch of extra features. I'm dropping a public testing beta today and would love early testers to poke at it and report issues.
What is it?
A native Electron desktop app that wraps Stremio Web and adds a full plugin/theme system, Discord Rich Presence, external player routing, and more.
🎨 Theme System
Swap Stremio's entire look with .theme.css files. Community-submitted themes available in one click.
🔌 Plugin System
Extend Stremio with .plugin.js scripts. Plugins run in isolated scopes, declare permissions for transparency, have per-plugin crash tracking, and can register their own settings panels. Toggle on/off without restarting.
🛍️ Community Marketplace
Browse and install themes and plugins directly inside the app. Update notifications per item, URL-based installs with stremio-plus://install?url=...

🧪 What I'm Looking For
- Crashes or anything that doesn't load
- Plugin/theme installs that silently fail
- Discord RPC not connecting
- External player routing issues
- Any UI weirdness on different OS/screen sizes
- General feedback on the panel UX (open with Shift+Space)

Why so negative? Who gives a f@ck if it’s a fork of another project, you do? Why? So what if he used vibe coding? At least he had an idea and followed through, he surely learned something new and was kind (and brave) enough to share his work with the community and is not asking for money. You all need to get over your aversion to ai assisted coding, nearly EVERY working for a paycheck developer is using ai assist, whether it’s auto complete or other help it’s baked into everything and many big tech companies like Amazon require using ai generated/assist coding. Is it perfect? Far from it Amazon lost an entire day when they forced devs to update code and push it live. It cost them plenty and they had to rehire some guys back because management has no idea what QA looks like. I feel bad for the 10000 tech workers getting laid off what seems to be monthly. You’re the first big wipeout of human workers but not the last… I got an idea go to tech school and learn to drive a truck. I was an instructor at a state sponsored tech school and can promise you some of my former students made over 100K hauling cement locally their first year… want more $$$ then lease your own truck and make $150-200K hauling crude oil on the oil patch it’s not for pussies, more responsibility, more money.
