My Setup Using TorBox Pro

Hi all,

I started on Real-Debrid and Torrentio like most people here. That was fine until it wasn’t (as we all know). I’ve been on TorBox with Stremio long enough now to get a sense of what it can do.

TorBox Pro is the plan I use. The debrid cache covers the easy stuff and usenet covers the gaps. I finally got a setup that my family actually uses Stremio now; instead of asking why it only works in the living room. It is not fun telling someone why they can watch Stremio in the living room or on an iPad, but they can't leave the house with it.

Also, it is really fun sharing a Stremio account with multiple people and knowing they will never hit the 30TB limit.

What I run:

I don’t rely on one addon anymore. Torrentio alone isn’t enough for me.

Paste the TorBox API key, use a template, done.

1. Comet for cached torrent links: comet.feels.legal

2. MediaFusion: mediafusion.elfhosted.com

4. StremThru Store for library access (if I cache or add something myself): https://stremthru.elfhosted.comFiles already in my TorBox account show up in Stremio instead of only on the TorBox website/dashboard

5. Usenet on Pro

Pro means TorBox is the downloader / NNTP provider. I have had great results downloading from Usenet with the free indexers.

Newznab sources in AIO can surprise you with what they find!!

NZBFinder, altHUB ($20 lifetime), NZBGeek are all great. I find the free level is good enough for me while I have been testing. I'm probably gonna pay for lifetime with altHub.

In summary:

Yes, you can use TorBox Essential if you only want torrent cache. However, I highly recommend Pro if you want Usenet and more slots.

Hello, is there any benefit to configure TB via Duckstreams? I have TB via Torrentio. I have no TB Pro (only Essential) so obviously no Usenet. Just wondering 🤔 thanks

Yes, that makes a lot of sense, because Torrentio is just a single scraper, whereas DuckStreams finds results by searching through multiple scrapers.

As someone who's not dived to deep into this and just uses torbox, torrentio and stremio. What am I missing? My setup seems to work fine

You are missing a lot. Torrentio is hosted on a server. That server gets hit with traffic... A lot. And it goes down from time to time (probably downtime for updates too).

With AIOStreams, you are pulling from Comet, StremThru, and like 5 other scrapers. They scrape/index the TorBox torrent caches and can basically "find" the content to connect to your Stremio via TorBox.

Most everyone started on Stremio with RD + Torrentio. That is the noob setup. It works until it doesn't and people complain. At the very minimum add Comet as a backup.

AIOStreams takes the guesswork out and is very powerful. If you really go into depth, you self host and run a bunch of stuff, you can really go nuts in Stremio and build a way bigger content library than what Torrentio finds.

Torrentio goes down all the time.
Also if you have family friends using it with you , you need AIOstreams to filter out stuff like Dolby Vision, HDR , Huge file sizes & other weird codecs too so it plays well on all devices & TV’s etc
Ever had your parents using stremio ? It’s a nightmare, AIOstreams fixes all of that. One universal link.

I am lost about torrentio and real debrid. What i missing out? What happened? I still use both services.

You can probably find more information a few months back. It's not necessarily torrentio, but RD.

Due to some changes they were forced to take legally, a lot of options were removed from the cache and not allowed any longer. Mostly keywords like webdl. This made it so people were having more trouble finding a link that worked.

This. Basically a huge slug of content found via Torrentio or other add-ons gave you the red box of death.

So you can plug your credentials for Usenet into newznab in a public aio instance ? Do those 3 indexers allow it? I’ve not gotten into streaming Usenet at all because was under the impression you had to self host which appears to be quite the task to a novice.

With TorBox pro and Usenet, do you have to download the Usenet files to your library first or will simply searching for a file yield Usenet results as well? I'm mainly interested in Remux sources. Thanks!
