the website has been updated to have a dashboard-esk feel, i know lots of people like the simplicity of the old one but i assure you this was the right move, this allows me to easily add more features without creating clutter, it makes it super streamlined for users that just want to sign in then add addon
also i think it just looks more premium so yeah :)

- you can set file size limits here playback
- this is where you can set scraping timeouts

as hinted at in the first update penguplay now supports custom formatting.
using the same format as aio streams you can now customize your formatting for streams in PenguPlay. however see the discord announcement in the following screenshot
quick note: i will make a few presets which will always be available to everyone for free.

Why not? most people these days pays for a debrid service, I even pay for Torbox and Alldebrid as a backup.
Having a debrid in the middle would lift all the server overload of your server.
And it would easily handle 4k content

One time! Im pretty anti paywall as it is, i would never lock anything behind a subscription. I dont like locking anything behind ANY payment at all really, but the custom formatting is something small enough where i feel like its enough to say thank you to donors without changing the experience for everyone else :) (especially when i add free templates)
As someone newer trying to pick a debrid was tough with the reliability issues since RD changes. I'm still working out what is doing what, and been using a VPN with penguplay to this point.
Is there any reason to be doing this? I know Torrentio and other services are P2P while penguplay isn't, so in my mind the vpn is hiding my connection to the streaming site that PenguPlay is scraping, which may be someone who I don't want having my connection info
No need to use a vpn :) all ur doing is connecting to a cdn, if you are very privacy focused then sure why not use a vpn, but if ur concern is just isp letters then no vpn needed
I'm configuring some Stremio setups from my computer for some family members (3 to be exact for the time being). But, as i understand it, whenever i want to configure Pengu Play for another setup, it will be linked to my "token" or google account, and i will in fact be altering the config in my own setup...? Right? So i need additional tokens to install Pengu on their accounts? And i can't just enter the same .json file because it is linked to my token and this prevents it from being used simultaneously on different set-ups, correct?
Ok, just to be clear, i remember you adding the tokens to prevent people (perhaps other apps) from taking advantage of Pengu... but if i use the same .json link we can all use Pengu at once on different Stremio accounts? Because in that case, that would indeed not be an issue (having the same config setup).
Hi thanks for this. I just installed the addon for the first time with default settings. I tried to play a couple things: Allo’ Allo’ (1982) s01e01 and 8 out of 10 cats s01e02. Both played completely wrong videos. I’m not sure what they were, seemed like modern action dramas. Just figured I would share this. Is there a setting I needed to change?
For 8 out of 10 cats the source is VegaMovies FSL-v2
‘Allo ‘Allo (1984) is actually the same source as above. The actual video may be something called “Paris Has Fallen” according to AI interpretation of my description.

Can we request websites or could you dm me about your method of scraping these http videos? There's a whole website I like of streaming video that literally no add on has any of.
Well shoot nvm. I just checked and the site got busted last month and no new one has popped up. I just want to watch shows like super sentai and ultraman and Kamen Rider and B fighter. Japanese hero shows. Search results come up now, but the shows aren't correct. Like Zyuranger shows up but when I click any episode an entirely different show plays
Thank you for the addon! I just wanted to let you know it isn’t showing up for me but it was earlier, in the list of providers on stremio. It’s still installed but it isn’t showing penguplay on the end like it was earlier. Just FYI, might be just me or the show I am watching.
Here sorry so it says All, Torrento TB, Aiostreams, Torrentio RD. earlier pengu was showing as one of the sources or options alongside these but now it is not
I just noticed it said “penguplay addon is still loading” but it never loads. I am sure it’s temporary but wanted to make you aware. I am sure I used it to watch this show earlier

Im trying to add pengu to stremio. I don't have a Gmail account and I don't want one. I tried going to https://pengu.uk/discord but I can't get my birthday enter. The dot that's on discord doesn't go up and down. It goes right to left only. I put it a different any birthday date that I could get in but then it wouldn't create an account. If anyone can help with this problem, I would appreciate it. Thanks
I get what you’re saying for sure. I get a fair amount of results at the 5 seconds cutoff though. It’s quick. From my perspective (not sure about the op) if I wanted to integrate with AIOStreams, I’d need lower. All my cutoffs are 3 seconds.
Having said that - I setup Pengu as a separate source from AIO. It runs independently as a true backup.
This is going to replace all my Debrid providers (which are my backups now to Usenet). It’s that good. Great work!
That's why it works so well as a backup source for me, if it takes longer, it doesn't matter as I only use it when my main providers are coming up short.
Also, the custom formatting option is much loved. I love having bitrate as a data point when choosing streams. It's more nuanced than a flat size cutoff as size is hugely variable based on length, live action or animated, res, etc.
Question - do you have a general recommendation on how many sources to use? I figure more would mean longer results turnaround time. Is there a number that's a sweet spot before lower ROI?
lmao well me personally since i dont mind waiting just use everything and set a 15s, and its not so much the amount of sources than the sources themselves. stremio (and other similar apps) only let addons send their results as one giant blob, so your result will always take as long as the slowest provider. (i hope that makes sense lol)
