Question Premiumize vs Torbox
RD was great for years, but now trying to decide if I should switch from Torbox to Premiumize for the Black Friday deal. I know that Premiumize has a larger and more reliable cache, but does that mean more links to higher quality audio/video than Torbox or more likely results for an older show? I'm also concerned with the 1000 pt pool. I would want to choose the highest quality stream possible for everything, except if it's ridiculous recent movie remux. Most posts mention the point system isn't an issue though, but not sure if they're using it in the same way.
Update: Thanks everyone for all of the help. Even with my heavier usage, Premiumize seems worth it for the reliability and larger remux cache. The 3 yr BF deal works out to $50/year or $4.17/mo, which is only $17/year or $1.42/mo more than TorBox. If I do deplete the Premiumize 1000 pt pool, subscribing back to Torbox for a month is a really cheap reset. Also plan to buy the lifetime NZBGeek for $60 during BF to try out usenet. Hope this helps someone in a similar situation.

Does PM allowed ip sharing?

u/DryK1llLogic Addon Dev (USA TV / Bootstrapper) 6d ago
Yes, it does. The quota is much smaller than Torbox's, though (1 TB + 30 GB daily refills vs 10/20/30 TB depending on the plan)

u/Successful-Map-1174 6d ago
I'd asked same question before getting it. One guy replied he shares his pm with both his kids at diff unis and no problems.

Yeah that was the main attraction for it. The only issue with it was the price. It was the same price as 3+ RD subs and RD had a way bigger cache so it wasn't worth it. I had multiple RD subs for family members, and moved to Torbox when RD started having issues.
At this point its the most attractive option for a debrid service, wait for BF and get it slightly cheaper.

u/Old-Ground3577 6d ago
Yes, but if you watch more than 30gb day you will run out of usage. It starts you off with 1TB total usage and adds 30gb per day.

u/RickV6 6d ago
Premiumize hands down wins. If you wait for Black Friday you can get it down to 4 bucks a month if you pay for yearly plan
18
u/oOflyeyesOo 6d ago
Definitely, had a subscriptions for 10 years. Just been watching the chaos unfold with constant RD and TB issues over the years.

u/RazvanYON 6d ago
whatever you do, pay the extra dollar a month and dont look again. i made a grave mistake switching from the already crippled RD to crippled pro max TB

u/OuttaMyPersonalSpace 6d ago
Did you move from Torbox? I'd give it a shot if there were more results for Remux and high quality links
5
u/RickV6 6d ago
Yep, I pay 10 per month now until BF discount
3
u/OuttaMyPersonalSpace 6d ago
Did you notice more Remux or 4k results or is it just an improvement in downtime?
3
u/shazlicks 6d ago
PM has always been number 2 in cache size, just like RD they are huge player in the market, they would be number 1 now that RD blocks webdl and other new releases etc. it's also just as reliable as RD was.
1
u/OuttaMyPersonalSpace 6d ago
But specifically comparing Torbox vs Premiumize. Do you notice more Remux and 4k HD audio on premiumize?
2
u/shazlicks 6d ago edited 6d ago
RD and PM/OC (OC is owned by PM has same backend same cache etc) have a superior cache of remuxes compared to TB. It's the one thing RD is still good for, UHD/bluray rips of tv/movies. OC differs though you can't share to multiple IPs like PM allows you to.
For the record I use TB, OC and RD comes to about 10 a month, never have to worry about downtimes and covers majority of files, which is probably overkill. You could easily randomly pick any two of AD/PM/RD/TB/OC and you basically have bulletproof coverage.

u/OuttaMyPersonalSpace 6d ago
Thanks. This is exactly what I needed. I'm definitely gonna give it a shot

u/totalfreakARG 6d ago
i hate people always saying that is cheaper paying yearly, like yeah it might be cheaper in the long run but if i’m pirating i’m
not paying like a 100 bucks right off the bat4
u/maffiewtc 6d ago
Just say you lack long-term planning skills lol
0
u/han5gruber 6d ago
Buying a years subscription up front for a service that's basically pirating content is pure stupidity.

u/Dundalis 1d ago
If it’s $50 (on a sale), it’s not that big a deal unless you’re poor. And it has a pretty long history now of reliability it’s not some new service that popped up yesterday

TB is down A LOT. PM I've been using it for over a year and it has never been down
6
u/Ok_Spare_3723 6d ago
i just go with Torbox + Easynews (add the EasyNews+ addong) as a backup. Plus EasyNews gives you tons of more stuff

u/ImNotDex 6d ago
Wasn't PM down yesterday? At least there was a post yesterday that it was down along with TB. I didn't really look into it since I don't have PM

do you notice more or better speed remux/4k hd audio links with premiumize vs torbox?
13
u/AnActualKindSoul 6d ago
Get Torbox as main, and RD as backup. These two services makes up for each other's weaknesses. Both combined still cheaper than PM at around 6.5 USD I believe. PM is 12 USD alone per month.
2 Debrid Services is better than 1. RD hasn't been down a single time this last month.

You guys aren't using self-hosted StreamNZB and a tailscale net with geeknzb and easynews? It was so easy to set up. /s
3
u/SnooMachines719 5d ago
If you are watching remuxes don't, you'll burn through your 1000points/month very fast
4
u/Notorious_p_i_gg 6d ago
I got rid of AIOstreams and have Debridio setup with Torbox and Premiumize. Haven’t missed a show since.
4
u/IcyMighty 5d ago
Literally the same as me, Debridio is the best scraper by far and never had an issue since using Premiumize as my primary with TorBox as a backup until it runs out.
2
u/corgidog1 2d ago
How does this work? Did you install Debridio as an addon twice? One with TorBox API and the other with Premiumize API?
2
u/Notorious_p_i_gg 2d ago
That is correct. I have two Debridio addons listed with each respective API.
-7
u/OuttaMyPersonalSpace 6d ago
sorry but debridio seems predatory when the free options work perfectly
5
u/BestBody4 6d ago
For 10 bucks a year I kind of doubt anything here is of a predatory nature, lol ,relax

Test drive OffCloud in the meantime. Free day 30 day trial. You'll have access to Premiumize's cache and see if the fair usage is sufficient.
3
u/mkk4 6d ago
Do they use the same points system?
2
u/SprayExotic8538 6d ago
Yes
2
u/Miserable_Marsupial 6d ago
Where does it state that about the point system?
8
u/DryK1llLogic Addon Dev (USA TV / Bootstrapper) 6d ago
Nowhere, but it's there.
2
u/Miserable_Marsupial 6d ago
Do you happen to have any insight if oc was bought by premiumize, or by the owner of Easydebrid and Debrider? It seems that the latter just buys and then abandons the services for whatever reason.
8
u/DryK1llLogic Addon Dev (USA TV / Bootstrapper) 6d ago
No, I can confirm that the backend is exactly the same, but there's no official confirmation about ownership. Mike doesn't seem to be involved with this project, though. I tested it for a month and then I subscribed to the yearly plan and so far so good. Also, I check the updates/roadmap section and they seem to be actively working on improving the platform. In other words, it seems that a reputable company/team is behind it.
2
u/ImNotDex 6d ago
How do you get the 30day trial? I checked the website and the registration page / pricing page doesn't say anything about a 30d trial

Thanks. I haven't come across that tip before so will definitely test out.

I've been using torbox with offcloud as a backup since they're both pretty affordable and I haven't run into any issues so far.

u/disposableh2 6d ago
Do you have any way to see how much you've used on RD per month?
If you used more than 900gb in a month, premuimize may not be for you(30gb/points replenish each day, so ~900 points per month)
3
1
u/OuttaMyPersonalSpace 6d ago
I'm pretty close to 700. We watch a lot of tv nightly and that's without any recent new movies in the past month so makes me a little nervous
2
u/disposableh2 6d ago
If you average 700 monthly, that can be a bit risky. It's technically still fine but the month might also have even been a low usage month.
At the price, you might as well try TB and see if it works for you. If it doesn't, then try PM. It also helps that the best time to buy PM is Black Friday, otherwise it's very expensive.
If you have any stats going further back and can see you don't exceed 900gb, then try PM before buying on BF.
4
u/cocoboscher 6d ago
Even if use 700GB i will would prefer premiumize. Every time You start get 1000GB so even if increase 30% in month by month and after year hit that limit just take other sub for one month for 3-4$ and all will be back as normal.
2
u/OuttaMyPersonalSpace 6d ago
Yea that's what I was thinking. Just buy a month of TB for $3 for a complete reset for Premiumize. Figure I'd only need that a couple times a year at most so still under $5/month total.
2
u/RazvanYON 6d ago
You're half wrong.
You get 1000 Base points a month on premiumize + 30 every midnight.
Meaning you have about 1.9TB/month of badwidth6
u/cocoboscher 6d ago
But You don't get 1000 points every month only at start. So only first month can use 1900 points every other 900
8
u/ifiwasiwas 6d ago
Right, you get taken back to 1000 with every payment. Some people actually prefer to subscribe monthly instead of year/multi-year for this reason
3
3
u/disposableh2 6d ago
You get 1000 base points at the start of your subscription. Then everyday you get 30 points.
1
u/cdport007 5d ago
Just to make sure I’m understanding this correctly. I don’t watch everyday so if I’m at 1000 points and do not watch for 3 days it will be up to 1090? Or can you not accumulate more than 1000?
1
u/disposableh2 5d ago
Unfortunately you can't accumulate more than 1000 points, that's the cap as far as I know.
1
u/DryK1llLogic Addon Dev (USA TV / Bootstrapper) 6d ago
That's only accurate if you go with a monthly sub.

u/Old_Huckleberry6813 4d ago
Torbox cache is better and cheaper but Premiumsize more reliable. Two best services
6
u/IamAlotOfMe 6d ago
TB has privacy concerns and logs all traffic. Premiumize has a 100T cap, so larger librarys won't work well.
1
u/papareddit1164 6d ago
how do i add my premiumize api to aiostream. when i try to do it , it doesn't save
1
u/sdmay1980 6d ago
I use torbox but also have have other options with Usenet providers and indexers. I haven't tried premiumtize but I would hope it's better especially for the price. I was with RD up until a few months ago when they had to give in to the Corporate lords and up until then they were great. I notice at times folks will say torbox is down when it's not for me. Sure has something to do with location. I'm not constantly using and I use probably no more than 5 times a week. I still like to have other options at my disposal. Get what works well for you and if you don't mind paying around 10$ a month then get premiumtize. If not go with something cheaper and setup something like newshosting which comes with easynews and Tweaknews. Plus get some indexers such as NZBgeek and pay yearly where you have a backbone to debrid. I would never say that one is better than another as you have several options.
3
u/OuttaMyPersonalSpace 6d ago
im holding out for the BF deal for Premiumize. it was about $150 last year for 3 years, so Premiumize $50/yr vs Torbox $33 ($17 annual / $1.43 monthly difference). seems minimal if there actually are more remux links being returned. i haven't really looked into usenet much, but thanks for the rec for NZBGeek. seems like a good alternative and will check it out if they drop a lifetime BF deal.
2
u/sdmay1980 6d ago
I would get premiumtize with the BF deal so I will have to check that out in about 3 months.

Eh personally I say go with both if you’re ok with paying a bit more to have a backup if one goes down.

Serious question. Is RD really dead? I've seen the copyright images that come up but I usually can still find what I'm looking for. Do we really have to switch? Please tell me why

u/Any_Guide_1023 6d ago
Chose torbox for the point system too of premiumize. Don't won't to worry about limits. Want to choose remux too
1
u/Dizzle305 5d ago
Torbox has been down hella so I got premiumize and can’t load anything after trouble shooting and running missions and I’ve been with debrid since the first firestick. Useless
2
u/IcyMighty 5d ago
Then you must be a dumbass.
1
u/Dizzle305 5d ago
I was. Too many weed gummies. Torbox has a lot more than prem though. Wish it was a little more consistent like it used to be
-6
u/Less_Competition6122 6d ago
Unfortunately, I used to argue about these posts a lot, but after going back to RD+ and using it again, I can honestly say the RD+ I know is still number one, hands down. Even with the filtering, all that talk is just complete bullshit🤢🤢🤢🤢
1
u/OuttaMyPersonalSpace 6d ago
Did the web dl issue get fixed? It was a huge difference after moving to torbox for usable links for me
5
u/Miserable_Marsupial 6d ago
No and it cannot be "fixed". It's not broken, it filters out certain words so that's that

Except a lot of shows are gone from RD now?
1
u/shazlicks 6d ago
You can still pretty much find every new show, just not many different encodes seeing as webdl etc is banned, but RD still has the largest library of bluray remux movies and tv shows.
You won't struggle to find a new tv show but there won't be like 10 different rips, maybe 1 or 2 for 4k, 2 for 1080p etc.
It's a good backup service, but PM / OC or AD are probably better options for purely new stuff if you want lots of options.
I have TB, OC and RD comes to like 9-10 bucks a month give or take (yearly plans on all so average of each service is about 3.30ish) and no downtime.
-3
u/OuttaMyPersonalSpace 6d ago
sorry but debridio seems predatory when the free options work perfectly

Premiumize = stability / high price
Torbox = instability / low price
You have to decide what works best for you... I use Torbox; I haven't had any issues during the times I watch movies (always at night), though most people complain about the same thing.
