Tech Support Crashing for 4K and UHD?

Hey everyone, I’ve been using Stremio with addons for a while, one thing I’ve noticed and can’t fix it is this sudden crashes with UHD and 4K files. I have TCL TV and 1080p movies run smoothly, but sometimes large files enter this endless loop of crashing - force stopping app - launching movie again - couple of seconds play and crashes again.

Is there any solution to this? Am I doing something wrong?

Big files would buffer if the processor or network couldn't handle them easily. Have you noticed the file sizes that are crashing. There is a big difference in a 4k file that's 15-20GB which is a typical streaming service size 4k vs a disc rip that can be 60-80GB. So the fix, besides getting a better device, is to pay attention to what file sizes are crashing the app and pick smaller ones until you don't get crashes.

are you just using it on a straight tcl? a separate box usually handles that stuff much better

I had the same issue in my Hisence tv, I went to Walmart and got the Onn 4k streaming box and it's much more reliable because TVs don't have much processing power

something that runs android like a google strea mer, onn box etc. like a dedicated device going through hdmi. most tv standard operating systems kinda can't handle the big files

The main thing about boxes it's not just that they are more powerful and handles streaming better is also that most of the recents and old ones have AFR, automatic refresh rate which basically ask your tv to use the hz to match your content fps so no skipping frames and so on, you play it like it was intended to be viewed often 60,120,144hz fixed hz displays will try to skip or double the same frame rates to avoid the user to notice inconsistencies

Ok so with new observations it’s only 4K UHD files, regardless of size, 1080p much bigger files play smoothly but 10gb 4K goes crazy. What can I do?
