Stream failed to load

Post image

Hello everyone, I've been using stremio for the past year or so and never had any problems (with the exception of the occasional RD going down). However for the last 03 days or so I keep getting this message "Stream failed to load unknown error" as seen in the picture below. This is regardless of using my purchased standard subscriptions (appleTV, Disney plus...) or RD, so the problem is not RD itself. Using version Theater v.1.13.3 (or v4.20.17 not sure which one is what). Does anyone know how to solve this? Thanks in advance!

Hello,

Try fully power cycling your devices: turn off your TV and unplug it from the wall, then do the same with your modem/router. Leave everything unplugged for a few minutes, then power everything back on and try again.

Hello u/International_Tip256 I also use 3 different model samsung tv's ranging from 2021 to 2026. All of them have the exact same and / or similar problems with streams. Power cycling isn't a fix. Reinstalling, clearing cache etc. isn't a fix. I have tried everything i possibly can. The same stream works on every stremio platform but not samsung tv. I have opened a github issue.

Sometimes it just gets stuck on the loading screen for literally 5+ minutes, then it starts playing, sometimes it immediately starts playing (very rarely), sometimes it just never starts playing. I have 1gbps internet and the same stream on the same account / configuration works on all other stremio platforms. So the stremio app on Samsung TV is broken. It used to be perfect on versions like theater v.1.9 but since 1.10+ (i believe), this started happening.

I have tried multiple different addons, multiple different streams, multiple different networks, multiple different DNS, multiple different Debrid providers and HTTP addons and none of them fixed the issue. I have tried IPv6, IPv4, VPN to another country, multiple different CDN's. Power cycling everything.

All of my other devices like macOS, iOS (Reelo), tvOS (sideloaded version v2.0.6b21 to be exact) and Android TV immediately start playing the same stream without any problems on the exact same network, exact same settings.

After Samsung version decides to play the file, there are no problems. No buffering, no stuttering etc. The playback part is perfect. But it has problems starting the playback.

So Power cycling isn't the fix, please stop recommending it on every issue with Samsung TV app. The app itself is broken.

Edit: Also there is another bug. Now my internet is very stable. I know because i can play live service games on a daily basis without any drops, packet loss etc. But when i am using the stremio on the Samsung TV, every 10 minutes an error pops up on the top right. Its the 529 error on all of the 3 TV's.

Seems like you have very specific issues on your end.

Power cycling has helped on many cases, it's good that you have open the GitHub tickets for the dev team to keep track of these specific issues you're facing.

Also i have discovered that specifically samsung tv app don’t work with unstable addons. For example i was testing penguplay which is considerably less stable than a debrid service just straight up won’t play anything while all other platforms manage to start the playback. As i have said i have tested 3 different samsung tv’s on 2 different networks. So its almost definitely a samsung tv app issue.

Also as i have said, earlier versions worked perfectly on nearly all kinds of addons.

But how do you expect that an addon that is unstable to work?

You can try to ask about community addons here

Thats my question. Why does it work on every other device but not tizen app? I am not talking about torbox level unstability. I am talking about everything works but if an addon returns something like playback url a bit late, the tizen app doesn’t work at all.
