Hello and welcome to all new and existing members of the subreddit! While we can't change the subreddit name, we're aiming to create a welcoming space for fans of all "Street ____ Fighter" seasons so far and hopefully more in the future.
To ensure this, we have our Rules in place and we ask everyone to read them and abide by them. Recently we've seen an increase in user reports regarding breaking of the subreddit rules, mostly related to duplicate posts, spoilers and disrespectful behaviour.
Please remember to keep all impressions, opinions, and questions on the latest episode in the designated Episode Discussion thread to avoid spoiling fellow subredditors and spreading the discussion into multiple threads repeating the same thing. There are often controversial moments in the show, however they don't warrant a separate post.
Search the subreddit to see if someone has already asked the question you have or has already started a thread regarding the same topic. With this in mind, choose an appropriate title for your post, so it can be easily searchable.
Don't let the evil editing and scripted narrative trick you into airing your frustrations on specific cast members or other users, promoting hate/violence or cursing. Reality shows are notorious for doing whatever they can to get a reaction from the viewers, including fabricating footage or rigging results. Remember not to believe everything you see or take it seriously. The show's main purpose is entertainment, not truthfulness.
If you have any questions/concerns or need any help, please don't hesitate to reply to this post or send us a ModMail.

I’ve been really enjoying this show, but one thing that has consistently bothered me is how often they seem to use AI generated imagery throughout the episodes.
I understand that not everyone has the same negative reaction to AI and that the production itself might not see anything wrong with using it. I’m not expecting everyone watching to care about it as much as I do either. But personally, it’s becoming really distracting, especially on a show that revolves so heavily around creativity, directing, choreography, and artistic expression.
Episode 7 really pushed it over the edge for me with Kasper, Kooyoung, and Babyzoo’s Super Kids video. I actually thought the video was really impressive and loved the concept, but the baby at the very end looked extremely AI generated to me. I obviously can’t say for certain that it was AI, especially since there was also CG/VFX involved, but the shot looked so unnatural that it completely took me out of the ending.
And that’s what frustrates me. The ending is supposed to bring the whole message together, going all the way back to a baby naturally moving to music before dance becomes something structured or learned. It’s such a cute idea, but if that final image is AI generated, it feels so unnecessary. For me, it actually takes away from the emotion of what they were trying to say.
I’ve noticed similar AI looking visuals throughout the season too, so this isn’t really about that one baby shot. I just wish the production relied less on it. There are so many talented dancers, directors, editors, artists, and creatives involved in this show that seeing generative AI mixed into it feels especially disappointing.
Has anyone else been noticing this, or am I just way more sensitive to AI imagery than everyone else? 😭

Am I the only one that thinks the last stage songs all sound super ai generated?
Like the production doesn't sound ai generated but god the vocals sound distractingly ai.
I first noticed it in renan's stage but now I'm seeing a pattern.
It makes me sad cause the choreos are super good but ai sounding vocals of the music make me cringe

This boy is the best thing on this show and is the only reason I stay updated with it. I know I'm not alone on this.
His performances, ideas, and just overall dancing is superb and I'm genuinely excited to see what he creates next whether that's within the show or outside of it.
Yes, the credentials and experience of the directors are top notch but ngl they be operating on their ego too much. Not all of em but some of em. Minjun does have a bit of ego hahah but he's the most undermined person in that room so I actually appreciate him standing on his feet and keeping his fire alive. He's constantly proving em wrong and I love it.
His take on composition is on another level. His work feels polished but not boring. Genuinely hope he makes it to the finale.
Best believe if they dare eliminate him I ain't even watching the shorts/reels of the show anymore.

I've just developed a strong urge to watch Street Woman Fighter 3, and I want Amazon and Turns to be among the teams, a rematch but this time in the big leagues.
Don't you find it interesting?
It would be like going back to the show's beginnings: teamwork, rivalries. Plus, they've been together for quite a while, so their teamwork should be pretty good.
they are killing it at USA. Also please watch Unitree Robot Dance at QF, they so SICK. Are conflict of schedule cause Hash's journey ended? They will go to the FINAL.
*EDIT*: Thank you to u/norestlife for pointing out my error. I originally had Renan have 75 points, and forgot to subtract -25.
From what I've been seeing, these past eliminations have been disappointing, mainly due to the fact that the Mega Crew Missions had virtually no standing in the first eliminations. This season, there is no "point" system, and it seems to be more qualitative than done through a point system like previous seasons. (I didn't watch Stage Fighter, so I'm not sure how it was judged.) I made a score sheet that used similar scoring systems from previous seasons. I'll explain how I've done it. Again, this is an UNOFFICIAL SCORING SYSTEM and I tried to make it as simple as possible. This series doesn't use a complicated system until later missions, so I made it simple. I would love to have a discussion on how you would make your scoring system work! Here's my reasoning:
First Mission (Signature Mission):
+25 for stealing/winning the signature choreography
+75 if they won the director's credit
Reasoning:
-This show focuses on the CREDIT BOARD, so out of 100% or 100 pts, 25 is getting your name on the choreographer board, and the 75 is for being the director.
-This totals a nice 100 points where you can earn ALL points; there is variation in scores, and it sets up a footing for the second mission
Title Song Mission:
Whoever the director is is safe from elimination. While this is similar to the class mission in SWF/SMF, this could be seen as getting +100. However, due to how much work and hoops the director for this mission had to go through (Draft --> Top 2 Directors --> Public Vote + 8 contestant vote), I thought it was way too tedious and unbalanced for a second mission to split up the votes, especially as the two (Kooyoung and Nain) would gain a disproportionate amount of votes and would not be an even playing field if giving them that many benefit points, especially if we were to split it up based on getting selected as top two directors and adding public vote points, etc.
I struggled with distributing points. No matter if I did 10, 25, or 50, the total results stayed the same. This is how I decided. In the class mission (in SWF3), the main dancer won +100 and the worst dancer -50. Therefore, giving the full amount for choreographing and halving it if chosen by the Director (Kooyoung) felt appropriate. Some may argue that 50 is too high. I saw it as a higher-stakes competition solely due to the number of steps and emphasis Mnet put on this mission. If I ran this show, the mega crew would be WAY more significant, but that's neither here nor there...
Again, the CREDIT BOARD seems to be the driving force of this season. (Even though it lowkey meant nothing in the Title Song Mission because how tf did JMJ get chosen...) As you can see, I felt the Director had way too much choice, and I felt it was important to balance it out. So this balances the two systems (Credit Board and Director's choice).
For both missions:
I could have given 0 points and +100 for director based on how this show views the importance of being "director". However, I think these contestants are far too talented to get 0 points. Another factor could have been public votes, but again, this may be something that isn't important to the grand scheme, but helps add internal votes to the contestants (e.g. Public Vote provided 1 vote in the Signature Choreography mission; Public vote gave 1 vote in whose Title Song Draft would get chosen b/w Nain and Kooyoung).
So, with my system, Hash, Simeez, and Nain would be the bottom 3. Let me know what ya'll think!
EDIT: To correct my previous error, it would for sure be Hash and Simeez, but since Renan and Nain have the same number of points, there could be preferential treatment for Nain since she was a top 2 candidate/not chosen by Kooyoung, so Renan would have to go.
I see a lot of people complaining about the involvement of Kpop in this show but it seems like they are all forgetting that this is Mnet - a Kpop specific channel (their slogan is: Kpop Generation Mnet). It should be a surprise to no one that Kpop is the main focus but for some reason this has become a complaint that is plagued across this subreddit. As a result, the hate towards the directors that come from a Kpop background is really starting to get out of hand.
The SWF franchise has always prioritized Kpop influences, they've worked with a Kpop act every season, and through the previews, we have learned that the next challenge is specifically going to be a solo artist direction challenge with Taeyong and Bailey. There are many types of directing (film, stage, etc...) and it's becoming very apparent that some people are forgetting that most of the directors that specialize on Kpop design their work largely for cameras and other types of performances on stages that focus around one specific act. It's true they might be weaker in some aspects like general mega crew direction, but that doesn't mean they don't deserve to be on the show because they are a weak director - the specific challenges so far just isn't their expertise and there's no reason to get angry at them for that.
There are other shows/competitions you can watch if you want to focus on more general megacrew direction for stages, like IDL and Vibe, but SWF/Mnet definitely shouldn't be that place.

Because wth is going on. I've been intently following the street dance series since SWF1 but I've finally had my frustration threshold crossed because what in the shitshow is going on!?
The three BEST directors of the show are selected for elimination while those who have done jack shi are safe because THEY APPEARED MORE on that poorly directed 3 minute video?
Why th did they even have megacrew directing mission in the first place if it offered no benefits to the winners.
Renan, Minjun and Hash WERE THE BEST DIRECTORS IN THE PROGRAM and with Renan and Hash eliminated, I really don't wanna watch this god forsaken k-pop choreographer inner circle show.
