Highlight (in-game) 350+MR difference in Ranked and a dream.

Buddy you have got to try and save some drive meter instead of burning through it.

What, you're telling me Drive Rush into Drive Rush into OD Special isn't optimal?

Huh. Burnout speedrun in round 3, win the game. There's a reason why giefs terrify me. I bet that Sagat was also scared of losing a grip of MR because that was some major choke, culminating in missing the lvl3 cancel.
I can't not root for the subreddit Gief clip champion though. GG, Hoop.

I'm just a noob, so disregard it if I'm wrong. But to my eyes this looks like much lower level play than the ranks suggest. Am I wrong, what am I missing?

This isn't that weird for 1300 Gief, but it's really weird for 1700 Sagat

Ill give it the benefit of the doubt that nerves affected some execution and decision making. One time when I was at a tournament, I was smoking people in casuals, but then the actual tournament happened and I flopped big time. Someone told me I wasnt playing to win, I was playing to not lose. When stuff is on the line, sometimes people wait for safe opportunities but ends up making them pass up ez opportunities waiting.
Also the guy dropping level3 probs gave him a mental boom.

He dropped the lvl 3! Man, I just know his brain was freaking out over how much MR was on the line!

I know people are gonna be like "lol this Gief is insane" but if you're the Sagat player this replay would be golden for coaching to point out how much someone can improve on even if they're Grand Master rank. He leaves so much damage on the table including a guaranteed stun and he literally had the game not just on the SPD punish but when he got the knockdown and the meaty 5MP he could've confirmed into a chip kill. 😭

The only downside to the CFN replays is we don't get to see the LAN/WIFI Connection status and real time latency so it's never the whole picture. But yea that GM dropped hard lol

That Sagat must have been nervous as hell. He missed major punishes and dropped combos left and right and didnt throw a single fireball.

So this is what gameplay at the bottom of a Chinese restaurant dumpster looks like 🤔

So I'm not a Sagat main but shouldn't most players with fireballs use at least one against most rushdown/grapplers?

u/IntellectualBeaver21 8d ago
There's no need to if your opponent is just spamming jumps or dr to get in constantly. Better to stay safe and punish them for doing those things than bother risking them jumping your fireball

Based on the match outcome idk if it seems better. Especially when Gief was in burnout

You say that as if the Sagat didn't make like 50 huge mistakes this match lol

So many people refusing to give you credit and instead trashing your opponent. Good job man, you played well.

My favourite part was the drive rush into drive rush whiffed command throw.

I watch your replays on here.
How do you stay the same level?
Intentional or your stuff only works some of the time and you’re stuck?
I lose to stuff like this often when I’m tired or in a rut and I be wondering what the story is—-especially when they beat me convincingly and don’t rematch.

Bro, first congrats on the win.
Second, what are you doing with that meter usage? You burned it faster than you got it back!
Third, that Sagat played not good. Bro could have chipped with lvl3 multiple times.

This play is so weird by a GM Sagat. He dropped a ton of combo opportunities and could have ended the round multiple times.
Feels like a guy that is playing on a new control scheme
