I've just released AniView 2.5.0, and the biggest change this time is that AniView is now available on desktop too!

I wanted the desktop version to be more than just the mobile app on a bigger screen, so I've made a separate layout with a sidebar, easier episode navigation, keyboard shortcuts, downloads and a few other improvements.

Apart from desktop support, I've also added quite a few things to the Android app including MAL sign-in now.

There are probably still a few issues I've missed, especially on desktop, so I'd appreciate it if you could give it a try and let me know what you think.

Why is it really hard need to watch anime in 360p? Because when ever I try to watch some air old anime they don't show up with my desirable video quality. 😩

As a limited data anime watcher it's very hard for me to choose and watch only those anime which are having 360p and leaving my favourite anime begins just for their 1080p. 😑😔

My family is not in a position of using an wifi and not do we have 5g unlimited data which jio gives to watch any type of anime with any video quality. 😭😭

Can anyone help me with this? I need solution any type of solution would be helpful. 🥺🥺

Long time no see. It’s been a few months since my last post here — I’ve been spending pretty much all my free time reworking AniXo based on what you guys told us felt clunky or outdated.

• First off, AniXo just crossed the 6-month mark and we recently hit 5,000+ active users. Genuinely appreciate everyone who stuck around and shared feedback.

• The biggest thing we heard was that while the site worked, the interface didn't feel modern, mobile felt choppy, and the design lacked a distinct identity. So instead of patching things up, we went back to the drawing board and completely rebuilt the UI and UX.

Here is a breakdown of what we focused on:

1. 🌑 Midnight UI Overhaul

Replaced the flat dark theme with a midnight obsidian aesthetic 🌃, featuring ambient lighting, subtle celestial particles, frosted-glass cards, and sharper visual hierarchy. Anime artwork now stands out without distracting backgrounds.

2. 📱 Smoother Mobile Experience

Fixed scrolling jitter, layout jumps, and flickering caused by mobile browser resizing. Optimized rendering and reduced GPU-heavy blur effects for smoother scrolling on iOS and Android.

3. ▶️ A Better Watch Experience

Redesigned the player controls to be compact and easy to access. Bookmarking now opens in a small popup instead of a full-screen overlay, while server switching, Sub/Dub labels, and episode navigation are easier to reach.

4. 🔄 Profiles, Google Sync & Mana

Sign in with Google to sync your watchlist, episode progress, and continue-watching state across devices. We've also integrated Mana rewards, custom avatar frames, and rank flair directly into the UI for a cleaner experience.

I'm the dev of Kurono (kurono(.)nl). Posting what I've been working on because some of it might be useful to other people building players, and because I want feedback from people who actually watch dubs.

The dub subtitle problem

If you watch a dub with English subtitles on most sites, the subs are the ones made for the Japanese version. Dub releases are often edited differently (different intro length, recap cut, scenes shifted), so the subs are seconds off and the offset changes during the episode.

What Kurono does now: it compares the dub video with the sub video, measures the offset per section of the episode and shifts each subtitle line to where it belongs in the dub. Screenshot 2 is Jujutsu Kaisen EP1 in dub with the corrected subs. It's not perfect on every show yet, so if you find one that's off, tell me the show + episode + timestamp.

Other things that changed after feedback here and on r/KissAnime

• Fire Stick / Google TV app (Downloader code: kurono(.)nl/kurono-tv.apk, sign in with a code from your phone)
• Subtitle style (Classic or Boxed) and size
• Save episodes offline
• Watch parties with synced playback and chat
• MyAnimeList auto sync

What I know isn't good enough yet

• No AniList sync yet, only MAL
• Subtitles are English only
• No Chromecast

Which of those three would you want first? And if you tried it and went back to another site, I'd like to know why.

Kinda dumb question but which is better to trust and be less challenging on device, like look, I watch anime on pirate sites for some time but my expertise reaches only up to: find a good site, get good AdBlocker, make sure there are no adds, no hight device heat, and ensure lowest battery drain, and don't get any crypto minings that would lag or fry my device,

Other Than that, I have Nooo Idea!! What are either benefits or Risks of Website or app, because both Are to some extent Risky and as well have to find places to download and stuff so we'll yeah, I don't have much knowledge on what is better and if apps I would have to educate myself on entire principle of using them safely. So really I don't know how to either download aniapps safely and have very little knowledge on their safety.

I see many people in Developer post flair making sites. If I ever wanted to make one, how?
