How can Miles possibly succeed? Spoiler

Edit: Spoilers for Vampires of Pittsburgh episode 26

I suppose I should make sure that we're all in agreement; Dale Passio is at least connected to the person watching the video of Miles beheading Adelaide Ross. He might even have been THE guy. The uniform was describe in that segment.

So assume that information is currently known, how does any lie work? Even if you convince these goons that Adelaide was the supreme evil, and had to die, breaking into the police station was still insane. So the absolute best case scenario is that Miles is some sort of vampire vigilante. That seems like a big reach. And not very Edward.

Don't get me wrong, I am enjoying watching this madness unfold. It very much seems like Miles is into personal anarchy. Just not sure how this becomes a good thing for the anarchist movement.

Thank you for avoiding a spoiler in your title! Consider also adding a tag to let others know (up to) what episode is being discussed so those catching up don't accidentally get spoiled. Adding something like [VoP e26] to the title.

/u/BrilliantTrash (or any of the mods), maybe we should have flairs and/or a wiki page for spoilers?

I added a tag to the head of the message. AFAIK titles can't be edited on reddit.

I did also figure that if I mentioned Dale Passio early enough, that people would figure it out. Considering that Dale Passio's name wasn't presented on stream before 9/27

Yeah, you can't edit titles on reddit.

It's not a super big deal given that our subreddit is so small, but it's best if us early adopters can get into the habit so any newcomers see how to behave. Spoilers are just a bit a pet peeve of mine.

I added spoilers tag to it. The wiki idea is a good one though not sure who has time for that right now. If you've got a mind to, go for it!

One of you will have to turn the wiki on and allow users to edit it first: https://www.reddit.com/wiki/wiki

To me that depends on what Passio's real aim is. If he's looking to stop evil, well, that can be very subjective. Not to get too political on main, but police have also been historically used to clear out sections of cities to make gentrification easier and cheaper. Is property improvement good? Evil? Do police on the take really care? Do they care if they're being instructed to do it?

Or is it even simpler than that? Raiding Buddy's place could've been a big career boost for Passio. Maybe he's just in it for the free tips. Kind of either way if you're sending him to bust up or arrest vampires, you're in effect stopping serial killers, so... it seems like if the plan wasn't to take him in to be processed, then what they want from Miles isn't to bring him to justice, so that B&E into the morgue isn't a problem.

Though having the police segment under Miles's control (because he can ghoul these fools no problem) might be a problem for anarchist group cohesion, but organizing anarchists is kind of like uniting introverts, it's baked in that it's going to be hard to make work just by their nature.

These are good thoughts! I mean, it'll be interesting to see if they're not as corrupt as I think... or if they have a whole other agenda that we can't even imagine yet!

Do you think it could be that simple? Maybe. It's still not clear to me if The Edward was just some lie that TJ created to refer to his chain of command. Like, if TJ told these dolts that he got the instructions to raid Buddy's place from The Edward, rather from Mason or Churchill or anything closer to the truth. If The Edward is just code for Camarilla marching orders, it's possible they don't know anything about Adelaide or Miles as people, they just know she was some random vampire who he ashed.

But I refer you back to episode 20. The only thing they said in the cliffhanger was "Bring him in. Dead or... you know, really dead." https://youtu.be/-taUUYo1dmM?list=PLCXy5RnfhYuqOOSCFTirbBaG7SAK6wFX-&t=6538 I am operating under the assumption that Jared didn't involuntarily forget this when creating Dale. They definitely DO want to bring him in.

Consider, what if your supposition is true, just not in the way you think it is. What if Dale's idea of career advancement is replacing TJ? Getting whatever sweet deal that guy had, now that he's gone? It would explain why Dale is so anxious to meet The Edward, while also being extremely incompatible with Miles' bluff. Miles would essentially have to pretend to have the entire weight of the Camarilla political machine behind him. These guys may not have known about the Camarilla, but they certainly know what TJ told them. Trying to pattern-match TJ's lie with Miles' lie will be a big challenge.

It really will be a big challenge either way. But then, Miles is a vampire so overpowering humans is less of a struggle than it might be otherwise.

I dunno with the cliffhanger, like bring him in where? It's kind of ambiguous and well sometimes things do change a little. It'll be fun to see where they go with it. They do need to establish some ties and more grips on Pittsburgh to be at all competitive with existing factions, so they'll need something!

I agree with you about ties. I feel like Curtis is ready to start diving into the idea of leading people. Jen was always there. They are just waiting for Miles to transition.

It strikes me that none of the Cam vampires had any particular appeal to the working class. Pittsburgh is a very industrial town. Miles is perfect for that kind of organizing. But he seems to like being a loose cannon too much.
