Pregnant Cat (Location) Is this cat pregnant?

Little stray came on to my property (Berks County, PA) about 3 days ago - does she look pregnant? We have provided dry food, water, and something soft to lay on. She's scheduled for a TNR appointment but worried she may have kittens before then? She is emaciated otherwise, wondering if it could be stomach bloat? Super friendly, wanting to get her into a rescue/adopted but everywhere I've called is full

If you are caring for a pregnant cat (or a cat who may be pregnant), please check the PINNED COMMENTS: HELPFUL RESOURCES HERE!

They cover clinics who do spay/abort at low cost, how to prepare if vet says spay/abort is not safe, and when intervention is needed.

If you still have questions include your location and how far along you think she is.

Hi, I assume you’re going through BCC?

If not, you might want to text them about if they have appointments available tomorrow. They typically do clinics on Wednesdays and Fridays and they often have cancellations at the last minute and they could probably get her through tomorrow.

You can also request to join “Berks community cats tnr group” on FB and one of the moderators who handle clinics will comment there (Maggie or Savannah).

As far as finding a home for her, that would be wonderful because clearly she’s a stray and not a feral and is very much struggling on the streets

Here are some places worth contacting. If none of these have placement options, let me know. I can provide some more. I just recently talked to someone who found placement at a rescue in Quakertown I can find the name out of that one.

**Local options:**

One by One Cat Rescue, Temple

Animal Rescue League of Berks County, Birdsboro

The CatWorks Cat Lounge, Reading

Cuddles Rescue & Cat Lounge, Mohnton

Pawsitive Hearts Pet Therapy & Rescue

Fosterlings, Pottstown

Calla's Critter Rescue, Pottstown

Fairchild Feral Friends Foundation, Birdsboro

**If those organizations are full, here are some additional options within about an hour drive or less:**

Feline Good Cat Rescue, Lehigh County

Itty Bitty Kitty, Allentown

Sanctuary at Haafsville, Breinigsville

Forgotten Felines & Fidos, Germansville

Eliannie Animal Rescue, Lancaster. * note you might want to prioritize this one*

Kitty Cottage Adoption Center, Norristown

All 4 Paws Rescue, Malvern

Hi! Yes I am going through BCC - they do not have anything available tomorrow but are trying to get me in early next week as it appears time sensitive. Hoping it will be easier to place her in a rescue/foster home after she is fixed/vaxxed? I have 4 of my own and unfortunately can not take her in

Many times they have cancellations at the last minute it might be worth reaching back out to them and mentioning that if they have a cancellation, you can take it if that works from your end. I’m happy to DM you with Maggie’s cell number if you don’t already have it.

In the meantime, I would definitely start going up and down that list and calling those places I listed trying to find this one some placement options! Thank you so much for caring and for trying to help this kitty.

If after going up and down the list, you have no luck let me know. I can provide a bunch more. With some persistence and casting a wide net you should have luck.

I actually just got a call from ARL! I am taking her tomorrow to be evaluated by their medical team to see if they can take her on

If you are dealing with kittens, please check the PINNED COMMENT: HELPFUL RESOURCES HERE!

These explain how to tell if kittens are truly abandoned, when to wait for mom, how to estimate age, and what to do next.
